its me who asked about the theme.
it turns out that i've found the problem. before installing the theme we have to
make sure your phone data/time is set correctly. Go to your phone "App. Mgr.", press "Options", press "Settings", make sure "Software installation" is set to "All", and "Online certif. check" is set to "Off".

hai, im having trouble with installing the theme for e70.
i've download a sis. file. but it says that no support file or something..
i've download the theme from http://www13.ownskin.com/theme and www.mobile9.com.
usually i've download themes from these website and it work just fine.
is .sis the right file for e70?

Hi! It is part of the international GSM standard, that ALL phones are to be tracable through the IMEI number. The way it works, is that when you connect to any tower for the first time, it checks your IMEI, weather it is in Blacklist, or greenlist ("gray list" does not exist any more as much as I know).
The only problem, that the black list, despite rules, are not always shared between suppliers. Once a phone is in black-list it can not connect to the network. This works great in the UK (where suppliers share these lists with each other) but for ex in Hungary Vodafone is not willing to block IMEI reported stolen by the other 2 suppliers.

Does anyone know why the software update for nokiausa.com is not working? I tried to update the software for my E70 using Nokia PC Suite and it directed me to the UK version of the software update. I wanted the US version.

Excellent phone. bought mine on upgrade Nov '06. works like a dream. switching between open and closed keyboard mode takes a little time, and it takes forever to switch on... it might be because of all the themes i installed... anyway, GREAT DEVICE!!!

bad things about e70 are the screen is not bright enough in the sunny day and RAM of e70 is always run out which my old phone nokia 6260 doesn't. speed is a little bit slow but its normal compare to my nokia 6260. my e70's scroll key is start not to response, when i press it, i need to press very hard to select. speaker of this phone is a little bit crap as well, cant believe the speaker of nokia phone still not improve. Sony Ericsson's speaker is the best. that's what i think of this phone but i still like it. lol, hope nokia will improve.

i think there's a way to trace phone via imei if your provider in your country or your national telecommunications devision in the government has a capability or tool to track devices.

Guys believe me this is one complete phone. Great camera, great battery life, great screen quality as well great Wi-Fi reception. The only drawback is that it dosen't have Radio.
Just update its firmware from the NOKIA website.

As far as i can tell the incompatibility with previous versions of symbian and s60 is a price for better security and stability of the system and software, and there is nothing you can do.
Maybe you can get a discount or something for software you upgrade to s60 3rd.

Hello
I've just purchased a nokia E70 and i know it is on the Series 3 Symbian software that doesnt support .SIS files, only supporting .SISX & .JAR files.
Is there anyway of converting .SIS files to a .SISX or .JAR file so they are compatable? I have many programs which I have bought from various companies and find that they do not work now.
Any help would be much appriciated.

Nokia published that locate back via imei number.local services provider (MAXIS MALAYSIA ) there is no such things that lost hp can be trace using the imei number
