Help what is my LOCK CODE ? The phone is new and I haven't changed the LOCK as far as I can remember. I never used the LOCK feature other than when reseting the phone so I can updrade the firmware. And it worked before. Now I can't get 123456, 12345 0000 or 00000 to work. Did the firmware upgrade change the default LOCK CODE ? Can anyone tell me what it is? THANKS A LOT!

About the memory problem. Well even if you upgraded the FW to V2 the problem doesn't go away. It's a lot better than in V1 but some websites open multiple windows when you click on links and then the memory problem comes up.

The only way to have a more stable browsing is either get the free mini Opera or buy the full featured Opera Mobile browser. Well there's a trial so you can try both Mini and Mobile Opera.

As for having a slow OS, so was the E61 before the V3 update. Now the symbian OS on the E61 is MUCH faster. We only need to wait for the same V3 update for the E70. Hopefully soon.

hv used d phone 4 a month, 1st impression...slow, especially whn its orientation's chnged frm normal 2 flipped opened. but hey, it jes takes a little while getting used 2, now i luv it. cant live w/o it!
bluetooth synchronization's a breeze, 3G connectivity's great, very user friendly. lots of 3rd party sofware 2 try. its form factor really does allows u 2 type really fast, rapid. chatting with msn using e70 is fun. d phone looks modest, unlike its brothers, E60 or 9300i or 9500, but yet, packed w/ features all of 'em combined! luv it! btw, dont 4get 2 install nokia's sms accelerator. guess its got a bug, kinda a fix.

Question for users, too...can you associate a specific ringtone and/or MP3 to a specific contact? Gotta be able to play that Star Wars Death Star music... ;-)

As a user of this phone (comparing to non-users, who think they know it) I agree with some of the issues mentioned here by KANASAIYOU, including the alarm :-( poor performance. And business people also need good alarm to wake them up so this is really annoying to have that very quiet ring.
KANA - I changed to the 'rooster', which is the loudest one I could find and it's been working fine for last week or so. No oversleeping :-)

My question is about memory (ROM). I've seen few posts about this issue, but no answers. Now more and more E70s are sold so maybe somebody WILL be able to answer it:

How to resolve the OUT OF MEMORY issue when using the internet? Can I close some apps? how? Of course I'm not talking about things such as additional apps. I had something called Task Manager installed (a demo) and after closing all the applications I could the status bar was showing 8 or 9 MB of memory in use (the phone has about 10MB in all) !

I'm not writing this to complain, don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic phone. But if anybody has any idea how to make it better ;-) many users would surely appreciate it.

              Thanx

                      to x-z:

Well, ths snooze is not something important, I agree with you on this. But combine with the volume of the speaker, which is not loud enough, sometimes I couldn't even heard the alarm, and i might miss it (to wake me up!). Not everyone are as alert as you, you're ok with the soft alarm, doesn't mean others are ok. (do you owned the phone by the way??)

Also I find the alarm has way too slow crescendo ringing, it took up like 30%~40% of the ringing period! With the soft sound, it even make the alarm worse! My 6108 sounds much much louder, you won't miss a single alarm!

Yeah I know it's a business phone, who the hell would dare to oversleep and late for work? Get another alarm instead...Maybe i have the wrong phone for me, but I LOVE the keyboard and screen, was looking at N95 but the screen really damns the phone hard enough...Oh well...

why the hell you need to snooze alarm 5 times,it's made to wake you up!

Your friend must be lazy as hell :) Maybe it is not said strait, but if you look into the manual in the section about aplication mannager, you can see types of apps compatible with the phone.

Besides, you can find info that e70 is a sumbian phone at nokia or symbian webpages.

Got E70 about a week ago from Nokia website and it came with 2X firmware. So far so good. Wi-fi works great at home. Updating blog page with picture was a piece of cake. Love keyboard. I have never owned PDA or smartphone but it was very easy for me to figure things out. I am not going to mention minor issues because major features works flawlessly.

                                @ZipoBibrok

                                - Multitasking sucks, i have seen better multitasking in Windows 3.1 on 486 than this...

Maybe you just expect too much :) Multitasking works fine with me.

                                - Pop-Port is the lousiest connector i have ever seen, mini-usb for data transfer and standard 3,5mm(or 2,5mm if it's so hard to use standard connectors) for headphones would have been much better and more durable.

I dont agree. pop-port is good solution if you start to plug in something different then just headphones. For car kit pp is great becouse its conectors on plugs are short, same for data cabels. Another + for pp is that is you pull cabel hard (by accident of course :) ) in the direction perpendicular to the plug conection direction the cabel just disconnects, if you try this with miniusb you probably damage tha cabel or/and the device.

                                - Charger makes whining noise like insect

                                probably you have faulty one...

And about issue with headphone-amplifier, remember that it is not a music or multimedia phone its a bussines one.

Some update of my previous comments after some time using this wonderful phone.

                                  Pros:
                                  1. As stated, extrememly sharp screen that you can't imagine how well the text displayed when browsing web pages using the internal browser!

                                  2. great volume during call, i need to lower down 2 bar or else voice from the other side will blow my ear off!

                                  3. keypad/QWERTY pad are much more easier and comfortable than you think, nuff said. =)

                                  Cons:
                                  1. Battery seems not too long lasting, perhaps it's the matter of my operator, seems to comsume more bettery power to last long (signal quite weak sometimes), but at least more than 50hrs for normal usage.

                                  2. Alarm clock only can snooze for 5 times?? Interval between snooze is 5 mins, but after 5 times the snooze selection is no more there...Strange? It might be important for some people who have bad sleeping habit, hopefully it can be fixed with firmware??

                                  3. Music listening is not that loud with stereo headphone, especially in noisy envoironment...Sounds good though, very good and solid bass! Sweet...

                                  4. WiFi is not as strong as you think, it's reception is weaker than the first batch Centrino notebook computer!

The rest pretty much stated in the GSMarena review...All in all, it's a very good phone, and with WiFi+3G make the QWERTY very useful, unlike previous model which render it useless/to show off...Basically I can live with all the cons above, except the alarm somewhat lame with the snooze...

                                    I'm pretty disappointed with it...

                                    + Incredibly sharp TFT
                                    + Pretty good keyboard
+ Internet browser is pretty good
                                    + Smooth video playback finally

                                    - So damn noisy headphone-amplifier with that stupid volume limiting which prohibits me from using better headphones. Frequency response is quite good actually but that noise is unbearable... Volume control is also implemented stupidly as per-application basis unlike fe. SE P-series which has common volume control (which does actually control the gain of the amplifier)
                                    - Joystick doesn't recognize diagonals
                                    - WLAN doesn't work reliably
                                    - Multitasking sucks, i have seen better multitasking in Windows 3.1 on 486 than this...
                                    - Memory issues... Why opening flip consumes 4 megabytes? does it load whole OS again?
                                    - No profile automation
                                    - Alarm clock is extremely limited
                                    - Pop-Port is the lousiest connector i have ever seen, mini-usb for data transfer and standard 3,5mm(or 2,5mm if it's so hard to use standard connectors) for headphones would have been much better and more durable.
                                    - Java VM is too slow!
                                    - Charger makes whining noise like insect

I hope that next firmware would fix some of these things as some of these are really software issues, but i'm afraid that biggest issue with headphone-amplifier section cannot be fixed with software.

to smartblonde (or any other buy.com shopper for that matter):
Is the buy.com e70 the american one (the e70-2) (black) with 850 band?
