Geoff you are right about the keyboard being solid. I was quite harsh in my initial review, but the keyboard is very good...maybe that where Nokia spent all the money? Do you have any idea how to make the camera silent?

Just got mine today - it's not black like the photo, but silver like the nokia product page.
It does have a bit of that plastsic feel to it, but the keyboard and everything are pretty solid.
So far it's pretty awesome.

@Mat, where did you get your e70? It's strange that yours feels cheap, as the inital previews of the e70 commented on it's solid feel. Maybe they switched to a different plastic/design when they went from black keys (which I prefer) to silver..?

Nokia in Australia are now advising dealers that the E70 will not be released until August due to problems with compatibility. I am tired of waiting and will get a HTC Grhhhh!

I got the phone today SIM free and I am more than a little disapointed. It's bigger than it needs to be and feels cheap and flimsy. The plastic case is poorly made and I think the power switch is already breaking. The screen protector was also "dog eared". I didn't get the black finish...grey only and it's ugly. The functionality is ok so far but how do I make the camera silent? Can anyone help?

when is the release date for the nokia e70-2 (the version with gsm 850)???The new 3G network in canada will be rogers 10 mbp/s
and Edge is suppose to go up to 1 mbp/s, they say it's 3.5G.rogers wierless and the official 3g developer to build 3g in canada and brand to promote theire new network is SONY ERRICSON .

Rogers is launching /g for the end of the year dec 06 , jan 07 .So yess there will be new phones phones that we use to import from europe now in canada allways with the 850mhz
Fido stores with imported phones in canada still have that mentality to cell triband phones without 850mhz ,unlike rogers so in a fiew mounths this will be over .
nokia 6030 850mhz 1900mhz has better reception that the 6680 in canada so get the 6682 and wait

Overseas electronics (weclectronics.com) does NOT have it in stock, contrary to the previous post otherwise. I called them and they CLAIM they'll be getting them in on Wednesday. They do not offer price matching to be competitive with other sites.
I called Mobilebee.com. They currently claim online they'll have it for $599, which is SIGNIFICANTLY lower than I've seen everywhere else, so I doubt that's true. Just like their misleading "expected in XX days" that they've been baiting us along for since like February, it's likely this will change since "their price is dependent upon the manufacturer." Also, they do not expect to provide any discounts for T-Mobile contracts like they do for other phones. Unfortunately, they also do not offer discounts for existing T-Mobile customers without contracts...which is too bad for them because I'm ready to deal!

This phone is symbian, so it can record videos not only in cif but it can also record it in AVI, just install the program for it. This is the power of symbian.

Anyway, seems like a great fone, more like OVERKILL.. hehe!

Well..well.well...Nokia got it right finally. A phone with everything that you would need - and decent enough camera. The WiFi was a nice touch - now all we need is something from Skype to make this 'perfect'. Seems like I will now buy my first Nokia in 4 years (Motorola/Ericsson being my game).I have checked eBay but nothing as yet for sale - I will post a comprehensive over view once I have mine in hand.
