one of your readers say nokia claims to be releasing the e70 into australia in 3 weeks.
well, that would be out of character with nokia - ahead, or the same time as the rest of the world.
sounds like more bs from nokia.
i will be in an old age home before some of these new models ever hit the shelves.

PLGZ,
I got it from a carrier, I was skeptical but carrier swears it is true. As they are now over 4 months late, every future release date is more promising than the last. Perverse logic but!

I think Nokia should insert also Radio FM functionality. I find it very very useful in many situations, not only for consumers.

Smokey, Did you get that from Nokia, or from a retailer?
I asked Nokia themselves about a month ago, and they said end May / start June for the E60, E61 & E70-- sounds like it's on track.

Nokia in Australia are advising the E70 will be available in 2-3 weeks which very surprising because Nokia normally release in Australia 2 months after Europe. Our carriers must have done the upgrade!

Thanks to the person who suggested options for videocall + b/berry + qwerty kbrd. Unfortunately I could not wait and had to settle for the N70 + bluetooth keyboard and diverting e-mail to the phone's account.

...wait a second!!...
I jusrt remembered about this handset: http://www.slashphone.com/71/3631.html which has got QWERTY thumb-board, a 'video-call' camera on the front and has e-mail push solution (Exchange 2003 SP2) -if that's any help to you?

I'm not aware of any handset that can do all three (3G video-call, Blackberry Connect and has a QWERTY keypad). I can only think of the NEC e808y, i-mate JASJAR/Qtek 9000etc. or the SE P990 that have a full QWERTY thumb-board and a front-facing 'video-call' camera. The first is quite outdated now and the latter not currently available.
Aside from the two Nokia's, the following have QWERTY keypads and Blackberry Connect but no camera: Siemens SK65, Samsung's D300 & D550.
Looks like you're gonna have to give up one of your criteria, have two phones or wait for quite some time yet!
(The only thing I can think of is to see if the Nokia Video Call Stand PT-8 [originally designed for the 6630] would work with the E-series?... Just a thought!)

Thanks for the clarification. I am looking at the N80 too but also want the Blackberry push and qwerty keyboard. E70 with video call would be best. I want video as I am often working 4000km from family.

...BTW if you're looking for a phone with similar features, but with a second 'video-call' camera, then I'd suggest the N80 -this here was strictly desined as a business handset.

Nope, no video call. 3G is really for high speed data transfer -the whole video call thing was just a gimmick to show what can be done via 3G, get people interested and ultimately buy the product.

Forgive my lack of knowledge about 3G, but does this phone have video call ability or only 3G data capability? I can't see a camera on the face unless the small circle left of the speaker is it. The spec's do not indicate a second camera for video calls.

Nokia spends too much time bringing phones up to the market. The more I wait for this phone, the more I want to get an SE phone again. Such attitude of a company aint gonna work in todays crazy world! Nokia, I'm still waiting......

I hope it comes out with black keys option as in picture. I can't see my 6822 keys when the backlight is on; same brightness as light on silver keys!!!
