Maybe it's better anyway not to buy the E70, if Nokia has software problems now, am afraid that soon after the release an improved model will be introduced.

Samsung, with their ridiculous delay of the i-750 lost my attention to Nokia with this particular beauty and now it seems they're following suit, so I'll have to get one of the O2 XDA range.

I'm in a similar dilemma -I think I'm gonna end up with the Qtek 9100/MDA Vario as I can't be out of touch with the world any longer, plus T-Mobile UK are offering a very tasty 'Unlimited Web Access' for just £7.50 a month ($13.00) -none of the other networks come anywhere near that! (Just a shame the Qtek is lacking UMTS/3G) :(

I've already asked this same question on the E61 message board, but just in case anyone from here knows; has the software of the E-series been altered since the prototype versions so that you can zoom-out on a web page to get an overview of the whole thing rather that having to scroll down, or more annoyingly right?

Please at least read the current page of posts and/or do some research before asking such questions.

Using the basic criteria of WLAN (Wi-Fi), bluetooth, a camera, expandable memory and 'currently available', you have the option of around 15 handsets -none of which run Symbian OS (all WM). Bumping the camera requirement up to 1MP or better gives you around 10 to choose from; then adding UMTS (3G) as well leaves you with just one option -the i-mate JASJAR/Qtek 9000/O2 XDA Exec/T-mobile MDA IV...even then I don't think this is available with 850MHz band. Yes it has a QWERTY thumb-board, but as I mentioned earlier runs WM 5.0, is plagued by errors, is an absolute brick (weighing over twice that of the E70) and is ridiculously over-priced! Looks like we're all gonna have to wait for Nokia to get their act together :(

This is going to take a long time now, time for finding a good alternative, anyone knows an other brand with almost same options?

At least this gives the N-series customers some time-scale. The E-series could be anytime from a couple of weeks to several months according to that statement!

                              From mobileguerilla.com

"Nokia made an important announcement today about the delay of their latest smartphones, the E60, E61, E70, N71, N80 and N91. Apparently, they are claiming that software problems had delayed the release of the six models.

Nokia wasn't specific about the bug they found, but said that they will be shipping the N91 this week, followed by the N71 and N80 later this month. The company's business phones, the E60, E61 and E70, that also missed their March launch, will not be shipping until Nokia makes sure the software has been properly tested."

                              Drats!!!

Australia usually get most new releases slightly later than Europe. I reckon it'll be in stores here (UK) by Apr/May. I'll be over in Oz in June, so if you still don't have them, lemme know n I'll bring you one over!

Nokia is not willing to give any update about the release, which I think is a bit arrogant and not customer-friendly, I love the E70 that's why I will buy it but if an other brand would release a look-a-like...I would go for that instead of the Nokia

I've been monitoring the availability of a number of new Nokia handsets over the past months. I decidied to find out for myself what Nokia is saying on availability, here in Australia.

My question to them was on the expected availability of the E60, E61 & E71 in Australia. Their response is.....

"All three handsets should be in store @end May/start June."

                                      Hope that's useful....
