Joey4321, 21 Oct 2022If HMD is giving chargers, more ram, & TPU cases based ... moreTime ago, the world was more happier than today, without technologies. There is nothing wrong to ask for more because, it is our freedom. But, we shouldn't forget that nothing is free in this world. If something is offered free, we should understand that the cost of the freebie is hidden somewhere.

I am not a fan of any mobile brand. To be precise, I am not a fan of anything in this world. We just use everything in this world to lead our life. Nothing more, nothing less. We know who we are only when we wake up tomorrow. Entrepreneurs (manufacturers) are not philanthropists. They just make things to make money.

Coming to your arguments, about chargers, protective cases and headphones which are not given with some devices in some markets around our globe, it goes without saying that manufacturers are partial, meaning they are trying their level best, to make more money if and only if their asking price for the device is the same globally. What can we do other than complaining? By God, I can't accept the theory of not providing chargers in the name of saving the resources of our planet because, if they (mobile manufacturers) do really care they should've quit their businesses to do farming. I don't care about protective cases and headphones because it would just increase the cost of the device. Practically it is not possible to provide these as freebies (really free) because one million devices require one million protective cases and one million head phones. Personally, I do really care only about the device's performance. If the device is really good, I feel that there is nothing wrong to spend some extra bucks to buy a protective case and a good quality headphones.

Coming to screen guard, most of today's mobile devices are protected with scratch proof glasses. When the display gets protected with a gorilla glass, why the display should require additional protection. I've seen many, applying a screen protector on a gorilla glass. This screen protector catches all the scratches and we live with it till the end of the life of our mobile. Some keep on replacing the scratch guard or the tempered glass now and then. But, we fail to realise that we haven't enjoyed the purpose of gorilla glass ever. Some justify that the tempered glass gives additional protection to the display. I haven't used a screen guard on any of my mobiles in my life.

Coming to LCD vs OLED displays, the best is always LCD displays. Only LCD displays can produce good realistic colors (only if it is a good LCD display). OLED displays always amplifies colors to produce vibrant colors which are unrealistic. Moreover, OLED displays have shorter life span. Most of the OLED displays in different brands of mobile devices can't even match the LCD displays incorporated in iPads of Apple Inc., because, they (Apple Inc.) incorporate the best LCD displays. Hence it goes without saying that the displays used in most of the Android devices are substandard. We all say that Apple devices are good. But, at the same time we shouldn't forget that we pay more.

Coming to after sales service and updates, again we shouldn't forget its cost. When we pay for a mobile device, we not only pay for the device and its software but also for their after sales services which includes hardware warranty and software services in the name of Android updates and security updates. Apple provides these services without compromises the reason why their devices cost more.

We all know that a simple Sony 12mp sensor can produce good images. But, only Sony employ it. Even if some brands employ a Sony sensor it is a 48mp or some sensor with different pixel resolution. We always go by numbers.

You've called all the apps that reside inside Nokia mobile devices as SYSTEM apps. An Operating system is a System app in itself but, without it, the hardware is just a junk. Even a TV set top box has system softwares. These System apps run at the background. Some of the system software exists as per global government regulations. Every mobile device has to monitored without doubt, without which life on Earth is not secured. But, the thing is that our data shouldn't be stolen. The list of System Softwares that run in Nokia devices becomes apparent by their names. These are mandatory requirements. Even iPhone includes these. These shouldn't become inactive at any point of time, the reason why we can't uninstall these.

Coming to bloatware, what is it actually? Bloatwares are nothing but Application softwares. Why we call an Application software a bloatware? Any software app which is not used by us becomes a bloatware. A FaceBook app., becomes a bloatware if and only if you don't prefer to use it. Even, YouTube App., is a bloatware if you don't use it. The Play Store App., becomes a bloatware if you don't use it. You can't uninstall Google Apps., because every Android mobile is governed by Google and it becomes mandatory to use Google Apps by Android device manufacturers. But, there is a provision to remove these Apps by rooting the device. There are also bloatware that reside in phone's memory without our knowledge. These are termed Malware. These malware does the job of stealing our data. When some of us knowingly post our private information on FaceBook, Instagram and the like, it becomes meaningless to question privacy and theft of data. HMD (Nokia) and Apple devices don't steal user's data and they don't incorporate Apps., that are uninstallable the reason why they are costlier.

There are many reviews about various mobile devices in YouTube and www. But, most of the reviews speak only about the device's back, display quality, cameras, button placements, fingerprint scanner and the like. But, only a handful of revives speak about performance of the devices and bloatwares. We all want to make money as simple as possible and so does every manufacturer. But, to be honest every manufacturer has to cross different and difficult hurdles to manufacture and market their products to make more money than us. We have to gracefully accept that all the procedures followed by a manufacturer to manufacture and market a mobile device are not as simple as we comment about them.

I don't mean to say that Nokia does everything up to the mark. Android updates provided by them are not healthy as it should be. To be precise, an Android device requires Android updates only if the device fails to do some of its tasks for what it is intended to do. For example, failure to run some of the apps., in Play Store. I don't prefer to update any Android mobile because updates are not given proper attention by the manufacturers of mobile devices.

We were actually doing good with the password and pattern lock in mobiles. It is the manufacturers who kindled the consumers with the provision of fingerprint scanner by forcing the consumers to blame about its quality, now. To be honest, password is the most secured lock of all. Other locks are just gimmicks.

Consumers measure processor capabilities through their numbers. Most of us complained about Snapdragon 480+ looking at its number. To be honest this 480+ is a better processor than Snapdragon's 695. A simple difference between these two processors is their capability to shoot videos at 60fps. 480+ can shoot videos at 60fps whereas 695 can't.

Asking for more battery capacity, particularly a 5000mA is a genuine requirement. But, more battery capacity, increases the thickness and weight of the device. Moreover, it is not the number that designates the quality of the battery. A 4000mA battery can be better than a 5000mA battery depending on the battery manufacturer. A mobile is not manufactured for a particular market but, for the global community at large. A device to be successful in the global market, every manufacturer has to strike a balance between various attributes of their devices. Above all, every manufacturer know that they can't stay long in the global market if they provide inferior goods.

To end up, I feel that this mobile is good enough though it can't satisfy every consumer. Nokia mobiles are ONLY for those who needs clean bloat free Stock Android. If one prefers more features to Stock Android, Nokia is certainly not the device for them. In other words, if one prefers to use apps like FaceBook and the like, Nokia is not the device for them. I gracefully admit that there is nothing good to say about Nokia other than its clean bloat free Stock Android which should be the most sought after requirement by the global community at large.

LAW321, 21 Oct 2022I live in UAE and for my region we get the below out of the... moreIf HMD is giving chargers, more ram, & TPU cases based on where you order from, or region, that's even worse & wholly unfair.

I have a preference for LCD displays, as they generally are pulse width modulation free.

Anyhow, HMD system apps (that constantly run in the background and send/receives and uses data as confirmed with a packet sniffer) that you can't disable/uninstall are:

        - HMD Legal information
        - HMD settings provider
        - HMD Vendor config
        - HMD Nokia Device
        - HMD Warranty Validation
        - HMD Device Health services
        - HMD Activation
        - COM CNCE Sarservice (???)
        - acu (???)
        - als (???)

These sit alongside all the other google & qualcomm bloatware that is also constantly running /sending/receiving/data too.

These system apps practically match those similar type of apps found on Motorola, Realme, One plus, Oppo devices etc. So there really is no difference, and you have no idea how much of your data, or where your data, goes to and who it goes to, regardless of a HMD or chinese device

Also, your claim concerning manufacturing quality is questionable, as nokia/HMD mainly produce low to mid range devices (& charge more for these than other manufacturers, while using recycled materials). Look across YouTube comments & forum posts, you can easily find many people complaining of defects that developed on previous G series devices.

Some Chinese brands are praised for their quality on some of their devices, especially within the £250 price category.

Look, I'm not going to lie and praise this device for the sake of it & for no reason, just like some sponsored reviewers and youtube reviewes regularly do. I'm also not going to lie and say I love this device just because I'm a "Nokia fan boy" like some people also do.

I am going to heavily critique it, because it's my right to, as I've spent my hard earned money paying HMD for this device.

The device isn't bad, it's just very average. Do I think it's worth the money? No.

Do I feel like I've made a mistake? Yes.

The G60 is overpriced & under specced - & a very basic handset when put alongside other 695G based devices (Realme 9 pro, Oneplus ce2 lite, Motorola G82, Oppo reno 8 lite etc etc etc etc).

The device should at least have 5000mah battery like last years model, at least 33w charge, pre applied screen protector & tpu case should come as standard everywhere. No matter what.

This is all MY opinion, and it might help someone else with their own decision

There are great quality IPS LCDs that put amoled's to shame while not bothering to eyes in any way. At the end, there is everything about preference, the only problem is when some people, mostly the ones knowing nothing, buy stuff not looking at them but looking at their names. it has amoled, it must be better. Amoled in the 300 euro devices price range, are mostly bad quality, with the money one can buy a better IPS LCD, but whell, to each his own.

Joey4321, 20 Oct 2022Box: No charger No TPU Case No Earphones No pre applied... moreExagerate much? Bloatware? There are like two apps that do not belong to google, and they can be deleted like just uninstall. only 4G RAM? There is also a 6GB version. slow charging?20W i find ok, of course, if you compare it with 120W might sound nothing, but when you compare it with 120W after 1 year, you start to realise how good actually is. TPU case? You would get one when buying directly from them. Screen protector? Yeah, i give you that much. Earphones, what? Who does that anymore? And are they worthy of using? I can already answer: NO. Now let's talk about those chinese brands at this price and their problems. no 3 year warranty, no 3 years security and OS updates. Most of their services are just there to steal your data, as google is not enough, put them together and you practicaly have bought yourself a great privacy infrigment, pocket tracking garbage that knows and sell more data about you and your friends then you can keep up with. Nobody says that google is saint, put that together with a company that practicaly belongs to it's guvernment, no matter what company from the region, they all belong to the comunist establishment and all do what they are beeing told to do. Then put that together with paper spec hardware that sounds way better then it actually is. like 100mpx camera, that is actually trash, 5G that actually does not work and no one uses it, RAM and CPU that use their power to keep up with the heavy tracking and not actually for user experience, wich is mostly trash at these price. Cheap screen, that might make you think is better but after a while you get extreme headaches. Mostly horible reception and call quality, and at the end, horrible design and manufacturing quality. And all this from some obscure company thats under other obscure company that is under other obscure company. And all of this 'companies" stealing, not innovating. This is how you know why you won't pay 299£ for a chiese device, no matter how good it sounds.
