Nokia Lumia 530 launches in Malaysia for $110

12 August, 2014

The Nokia Lumia 530, the company's latest attempt at a high-volume affordable smartphone, has started its journey around the stores around the world. The smartphone has gone on sale in its first market today as its dual SIM version launched in Malaysia.

The dual SIM Nokia Lumia 530 has gone on sale for MYR 355, which translates to about $110 and is close to what the company promised back at the announcement. If anything the price is slightly lower than the $115 pre-tax cost that Nokia estimated last month.

The smartphone is available for order right now, but actual shipping will start four days from now on August 16.

For your money, you are getting a 4" 854 x 480 pixel screen, a Snapdragon 200 chipset with quad-core Cortex A7 CPU and a 5MP fixed-focus camera. It's not the stuff geeks' dreams are made of, but it's certainly more than the price tag suggests.

dude 530 is a device lower than 520. it's not a 520 replacement. Search wikipedia for tetraphobia. there will never be a 420/4xx device. 630 is actually a 520 replacement. same price as 520 when launch (single sim varient)
