Hi everybody
I recently bought this magnificent phone but its locked to "3" :-(
Stupid, stupid mistake..."3" really sucks big time!!
Anyway, now my question is, if I choose to unlock it will I be able to use it with another sim-card? Even if its not a service provider that supports UMTS ?
Please let me know soon. I'd like to be sure before spending 500 DKK approximately 65 € :-(

hey guys i bought the nokia n70 yesterday and i have to tell you its v.good its video is amaaaizng and camera quality is gooooood too the fell of holding it is amazing and it looks callsy ... go for it guys... i bought the white. 5/5 for this one

the N70 was great and the video are cool compared to other phone. The picture is good but when the lighting condition is not that brigth expect that there is a present of noise on the shot. But i understand that the phone has its weakness and strength in every aspect of it.This phone is nothing but nothing is perfect that is why this phone is perfect for me hehheee. I have a question on this phone. If i loaded this phone a 1gb dv-rsmmc is it possible for it to run what do you think answer me asap so i could buy a 512 or 1 gb memory for my mobile. You know I was facing the same problem as you? I mean, hey! The 6280 has got only 6 Mb of inner memory and I thought of 6230i (had one). That phone kept on accessing the memory card pretty slow (photos, movies). Good thing it had quite a lot inner memory.
So my guess is that the 6280 is pretty much the same, except the fact it`s got a 2 Mp camera & videocall (you`ll find my conclusion at the bottom). Moreover, I don`t find sliding mechanisms so reliable. O.K., I never had a phone with a slid.mech. so far, but I can imagine those tiny little parts sliding up and down and again, `till they go from bad to worse (u understand what I`m sayin`?). Plus the photos aren`t that good like those from the N70. A good point is the video shooting, that makes it up to 640x480 (better than N90&Co.&stuff)
The N70 has got it`s single disadvantage to be operating in Symbian. That costs a lot of energy, but, hmm, there is another true part here: I asked a friend of mine (who`s got the phone for half a year now) how good the battery is, and he told me he talks `bout 1 hour/day and, without using the camera nor playing games, it lasts for 4 complete days . He told me another thing: it bothers him that the phone turns on a bit slower (again the Symbian) and is accessing some applications also a bit slower. I wanted to make sure, borrowed the phone for some minutes and to me - my oppinion - it didn`t seem it worked that slow. The photos are so good, that another friend o` mine (who`s an amateur photographer) said they are as good as the ones shot with an old 2 Mp camera. But, PAY ATTENTION: The best photo quality is caught while not only daylight, but sunlight. During cloudy periods the quality may be just slightly SLIGHTLY worse (trust me). For example, I shot some on the mountain, at a ski resort, while heavy clouds were wandering around. I printed the photos and they are more than O.K. The movies (video shooting) are that good, that it doesn`t bother me watching them in full screen on the PC (I guess 352x288).
So, the big SO!
Can you believe that I have spent more than 1/4 years balancing, deciding which of those phones to buy? Often reading magazines, hearing and reading oppinions on forums...
And decided for the N70. Of course, I have this stupid naive problem with the media key!!! I wrote about it on the forum.
What`s important: This phone made me more compact. I have good photo camera, good video camera, mobile phone, video phone, radio and all other stuff, at a lower price than usual (for a phone).

Very Disappointed. I got the phone outright coz I was well overdue for an upgrade and liked my mates new phone. I have a Genuine Nokia Ring tone seleted and the tone crashes as it rings. I took it back coz the firmware was months old and Ive been told its a known problem. All updated to the latest, Still not happy, It still crashes (Keep in mind its a Genuine Nokia tone im using) And gallery close's by itself etc... If you have a spare $800 or whatever to buy a phone, dont get this one, Id love to get my money back and stick to my 7210. ;þ

The little square besides N70 on left corner is LIght sensor.
N70 is an AWESOME phone!
Guys Please help me, i Need a CONVERTER from .dat /.mpeg to the .mp4 format for the NOKIA N70! Please or mail me the newewst ver of smartmovie that works on the N70 at my email ramta_jogi@yahoo.co.uk

The W900i has got that - my oppinion - stupid rotating mechanism, that forces one to use both hands... It`s got a HUGE memory card, but I haven`t heard anybody talk about the damn inner (or shared) memory. Probably `cause it doesn`t have one . You can solve the 6280 or the N70 memory with a "HUGE" card as well and, per total, you`ll find it more cheaper... Photos are somewhere between the 6280 and N70. And it`s a big phone, too, especially when it`s open (rotated). O.K., it has much more pixels on the display, but... do you wanna know the truth? The normal human eye doesn`t even make the difference between those kind of displays. 176x208 is pretty much the same like 240x320 (for the human eye). And, it`s a bit more expensive.

hi friend, i'm having prob with my n70's startup. its too slow. i tried log settings to 1 day and used pencil key. still same output. another 1 is when i press multimedia key to open gallery, its also very slow. i'll be gratefull to u if u give me some solutions.

YEah i am also facing the multimedia bbutton problem, i got it fixed thru my warranty but the next day the same problem appeared and i couldn't use the media key, I think i'll go and Fu*k those ppl once again,
Other than this N70 is just a superb choice. I just love it.All those Ppl who r looking forward to buy this beauty go ahead, believe me its just too good..

ok, my question, has anyone bought a different fascia for the n70? i've seen some decent and cheap ones on ebay but cannot for the life of em figure out how to take the front cover off! anyone able to enlighten me?

hey, to the nokia ring tone guy, it doe sit sometimes when you use your own tunes as ringtones. not sure why, usually if its a full song it finds it hard to load and reverts to the default tune. this is random, so try shorter song clips.

Hey!I`m in a kind a panic! Since yesterday the media button (vertical, right) refuses to respond. I`ve got the phone for about a week. I tried resetting it, but it`s useless. It`s not that annoying, for I`ve got the warranty, but did it happen to you,too? Could it be, that the button no longer has a good contact to the circuit? P.S.: The phone didn`t fall on the ground so far.

This phone is really great. I am very satisfied with all its capacities; BUT I seem to have a problem. From time to time, although I have set differrent sound features for each group, my phone rings with Nokia Tune. I HAVE NOT SET IT FOR ANY GROUP!!! Why is this happening?

Love this phone had it about 1 month,music sounds great !!! & this may be about vodaphone rather than the phone but when I lock it after a minute or so it brings up the vodofone logo/wallpaper but i cannot get rid of it, it just bugs me thats all...red background with white symbol type things flashing aound the screen.....if anyone can help me that would be great !!

I have this phone for about 2 weeks! It is great, the video and image quality is outstanding and unbelievable! The are definitely no minuses about this phone. It dosent freeze, its fast, just AWESOME. I recommend it to every person.
