i got this mobile a year ago.camera's dead now.have never dropped it before.damn..

i had bought it 1 year ago, sent in for repaired = 4 times, due to screen blackout.
Scratches on screen by the keypad is inevitabled if u have no protector. anyway i'm happy with the camera function + screen, can have a very good picture. not really worth to buy.

i have a problem about my nokia n71,i just bought it two weeks ago,the problem started now i notice that it has no signal its sais sim card registration failed,i use two kind of sim smart and globe but when i try the two sims on the other phone it has signal,then i try again sun sim and it has signal,what do you think the problem with my phone?i really like this phone because its flip,thanks.i hope you have solutions to my problem.

I've posted once before about this phone losing the memory card function. Now I'm posting again to advise that as soon as I downloaded Nokia's latest firmware update, the phone lost voice dialing. If you try to use the voice dialing feature, the phone shuts down! My previous posting discussed the horrible design of the memory card slot, which failed on my phone, rendering the use of the memory card useless. So now, two key features of the my phone are not useable and I cannot get it repaired (living in the USA). This phone looks great on paper and would have been great if Nokia had actually delivered everything they advertised. Sadly, they didn't. It's an over-priced paperweight and I'd advise anyone thinking of buying it, to think hard about something else. You'll be sorry.

My N71 had a SMS_Accel -program installed right out of the box. Maybe this solves some problems with slow sms:ing. SMS_Accel application is available at Nokia´s web page.
I´ve had no problems with SMS.
Cons:
Internal phone memory (not RAM) fills up too quickly (13MB), even if you install all your applications to memory card.
Power button is too small, diffucult to use.
Keypad is clumsy to use.
Had some problems with my sim card, it doesn't go in place (worn out sim card, doesn´t go deep enough, solved with a piece of tape).
Badly balanced, by this I mean that when you hold it in your hand, the screen-part is way too heavy.
No ability to record from the radio.
Internal RAM in filled up quickly, example:
when surfing the web using fring in the background, fring is often killed to obtain more RAM.

Word of advice: KEEP OFF!
There are problems with this phone. It's thick for its features. It also has the bad habit of crashing and restarting when doing things. Keypad is smallish and difficult to type or navigate with. Camera is good though. Speaker is ok.
Also, despite lots of people saying it:
Yes! Whatever you do, the keypad scratches the screen horizontally in the middle. Either use a plastic film screen protector, or don't use this phone. It really scratches and it's quite visible. Get another N-series if you want, like N80 or the N76.

i bought this phone 1.5 month ago and now im going to repair it cause battery working (then i dont use phone) about 12 hours or then i use, it working about 1-2 hours :D

I have had my 71 for a year now. Its gone for repair 4 times now (thats once every 3 months).Each time I get it back its great for about a month then it starts slowing down again, freezing, taking 5mins to send a text & completely random application msgs appear all the time. I've updated software etc but still it keeps happening. I really love this phone-when it works! But sadly, I think it will never be reliable, and completely inconvenient when I have to be without it for 2-3weeks at a time when its being repaired. (I had to buy a cheap one - well £100- just to tide me over at these times cos the repairers dont offer you a replacement!) The concept of the N71 is good but the reality isnt. What I want to know is-what happens when the 24month warranty runs out? I'm left with a useless phone that cost me £359 that I thought & hoped would last me at least 4 years, thats why I forked out that much in the first place. I've always had nokias (have tried others but always migrated back to nokia) & to be honest I'm very disappointed with them & their aftercare services. They once tried to fob me off with a horribly scratched replacement that had bits missing off it like the nokia panel on the back & the memory card cover bit. Cheek! And when you contact nokia (a fete in itself) they wont replace it for a dif model. Disgusting when we pay so much for these things dont you think. Please can anyone offer any advice!

this phone really good,i was used about 1 month and i dont have any seriuosly problem,everything is running well. but i have any question,at my n71 dont have anti virus,but the game are snake and sudoku,but actually the game is snake and card desk,and at my n71 there is available air album.any one tell me what the reseon?
i am affraid this phone is black market,cause i buy second hand but fullset,and for handsfree,battery, and cable data made by china,but the book and the guaranted,cd software are original....
plzz help me?????

i have this fon for 5 months now...so far it does serve its purpose...f ur looking for n71's flaws, here some that i wanna share...like wat most ppl wud agree...its keypad can cause scratches but of course you can always do somethin bout it...if you hav bought a memory card and use it on this fon, that would b great, however, wen you have used much space (on ur Memory Card), it may become an issue...sending text messages would take around 2-3 minutes and u hav to wait til d message is sent before u could browse your fon coz it hangs as it sends d message...i dunno f this applies for other ppl but its headset is not that durable...im musically inclined so i listen to mp3's everyday even wen i go to sleep...my headset got jammed after 4 months...now i have to buy a new one...on d brightside...this fon really rocks! i would want this fon to have separate folders for pics and videos though..

to the person who asked this...yes d keypad can cause scratches on your screen...you can avoid it by either closing your fon carefully or by buying a screen guard...overall this fon is simply amazing
