don't just look at the specs, go out and use a RAZR maxx. word is spreading quite rapidly how awesome of a phone it is. leagues above previous motorola phones, especially the V3. i've preached about that NVIDIA goforce 4800 processor for months now and people see the fruits. no lag, improved menu structure. the nokia fanboys won't have much to complain about.

motorola will soon unveil another upgrade running linux. in the coming months they'll have slim phones like the motorola Q with HSDPA for europe that are heads above nokia's slim phones.

Yeah the v3 suks. the original v3, not the upgraded ones. just take a look at the Motorola Razr Maxx v6's specs, and you'll see why.

Ok motorola has better desing, but v3 sucks in functions and menus. It's realy bad and not user friendly. But a symbian with the size of a motorola V3 that's just perfect. Thank god nokia realized that people also like small phones.

I prefer Nokia mobile since I got my first one. But only because of their fine signal reception. Not their styles or funtions. But now is really dissapointing that they have to copy other's design? Don't Nokia's designers have their own great ideas? What a Shame!!!

oh yeah, and if you guys want fashion as well as function, the motorola maxx has 2 strips of blue lights on each side that blinks accordingly to the ringtone's rythm whenever you recieve a message. the Motorola logo on the front lights up too.

nokia has hit rock bottom. finally coming to realize that motorola had the superior design all these years. they force fed you nokia fanboys N-Series bricks and you proclaimed them superior. now nokia has said otherwise by ripping off the critically acclaimed, #1 selling Motorola RAZR series.

lol, you can't even open this with one hand? what good is it? the RAZR maxx has nice grooves along the sides to allow for easy one-handed operation.

nokia needs to leave design to motorola. the only time they have anything halfway decent is when it's as thick as a dictionary.

i reckon the razr maxx and the n76 are about the same in terms of features. the n76 has the better screen, class 32 edge and an fm radio, the razr maxx has touch sensitive keys, HSDPA, 24 MBs more internal memory and A2DP accompanying the bluetooth. But to my choice, i'd rather have the RAZR maxx. It looks better and has a very useful flash to take pictures in the night.

reminds me of the simpsons "treehouse of horror" episode- lisa does magic and changes a toad into a prince and then bart tries the same but changes the toad into a puking ugly amphibian.

                      u get my point???

You can say whatever you want, but we all know that the N76 is far better than the Motorola maxx.

totally copied of moto design and sony colour,
instead of copying nokia should go for their own root design.

please don't just talk about the APPEARANCE & DESIGN

i need a QUAD-BAND phone, so i don't have many choices, i love the design of razar series, but tri-band is no good...

can please talk more about the functions, compatibility, etc...

Serious issue guy's... just so you remain informed and all. Seems to me the Motorola is the way to go... thank God i got the Razr Maxx v6... Claims the Synergy and Linux OS are way more stable and secure compared to Symbian.

                                      Got the below extracts from:
                                      http://archive.gulfnews.com/supplements/mobiletelephones/more_stories/10070416.html...

                                      Concerns phone viruses...

Only pasted bits of it.. u can read the whole thing at the above URL pasted...

"Nokia takes this issue seriously, especially when it comes to enterprise devices or devices mainly targeting the business sector. The company offers special anti-virus software through the Finnish company F-Secure for its Communicator line of mobile devices," he says.

"Motorola users do not suffer from viruses because the current Motorola operating system - Synergy - is extremely secure, as is the Linux system used by a number of our handsets," says Harout Bedrossian, Product Marketing Manager for Motorola mobile devices in the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan.

Sandeep Saighal, Sr. Manager Sales and Marketing, Telecommunication Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics, says, "Samsung has its own software which does not get affected by viruses. The only software that gets affected by viruses is the Symbian OS which is not available on Samsung phones."

"Nokia pays close attention to the virus issue as it offers antivirus software in its devices. For instance, business users are keen on having antivirus applications in their mobile phones in order to protect sensitive data," says Eid.

Final impressions from the reviewer on Mobile review.com... Nokia fans might be upset reading this but hey... it's the truth... sorry. Razr Maxx v6 is the one to get. Read on...

Apart from the battery life and absence of stereo-speakers, Nokia 6290 and Nokia N76 are twins. I should mention it that the design of the senior solution is different and one could hardly make a mistake about that – Nokia N76 is positioned as a fashion solution, with vivid trims speaking in favor of this assumption, specifically red and black color schemes. Overall the handset looks pretty stylish and will surely appeal to many; to me this is what the company is betting on – to draw attention of those who have struck Nokia 6290 off their short-lists for some reasons.

Getting down to the N76’s flaws, I have to name its ergonomics in the first place – as a matter of fact it’s the most awkward folder of all I have got my hands on over the past few years, flipping it open is a real pain. Also, I do not like the casing’s being a true magnet for gunk and mediocre battery life. It turns out that this very handset has fashion conscious users as its target audience, but does it really need S60 platform? Simple – it doesn’t, however those picking the N76 will get it as a makeweight to the stylish design, even being not aware of it on some occasions. And this might let the handset down, as glamorous buyers (girls) are likely to overlook what it has to offer.

On the one hand Nokia N76 sports prowess in the music department (presence of standard 3.5 mm audio jack, more advanced player that that of Nokia 6290), at that the manufacturer himself tried to put the music abilities of the phone into the limelight by etching corresponding captions on the dedicated music keys located under the external display. But on the other hand I could hardly endow it with the title “music centric” offering – far-below-average lifetime in music layback mode (4-5 hours is very and very insufficient) just won’t let me do it.

The model is arriving in the market in March, two or three weeks after Nokia 6290 at a tax-free price of 390 Euro, the changes made to the sales package are almost non-existent and include only presence of USB data cable DKE-2. The company is looking forward to benefiting from the top-notch design, since these are otherwise two identical offerings. However there are – on one handset buttons on the front cover are dubbed as music tailored, whereas on the other phone they simply lack captions. All in all, consumers will have a hard time deciding which of these models to go for.
