Please help me!!!
i just bought this n81 and the signal is poor..and i already dl all the software on to my phone and it still does not work..is there an nokia engineer out there? perhaps its a hardware problem? sucks to be me..

Lol yep i said "yet" think im being a bit too optimistic but ive got a feeling that NOKIA may just add TV-Out in the next FW of N81 but who knows.
Im also thinking of getting the N82 as an upgrade to my N81, im also a bit concerned about the N82 keypad,the keys look way too small.

Ey Hi thanks for the fast reply, you said "yet" but you think it will have TV out soon? Im a bit hesitant with the N82 because of its keypad, not really what i've wanted hehehe, but great features though.

Rather get the N82. The N81 doesn't have TV-Out support yet.

hi im planning to buy a new phone to replace my n70. Im looking into N81 2GB or N82. May question is does N81 GB support TV out, it doesn't say in the specs but it does have a 3.5 mm AV port, not sure though if it can also support the AV cable for TV out purposes. To those who have N81 can you guys help me. Thanks

My dad gave me an n81 and when i used it WOW i was gonna get it at my 12th birthday but my dad gave it to me for christmas and all the features are great i thank my dad for 15 times because he got me an n81 for christmas

@abcd,
hmmmm.So its hard for you to use the fon in normal positions.Because you didnot bought the fon from a authorized dealer so you can not replace it.
Have you tried a good bluetooth headset?It will not be the same but it's good alternative.

After updating my fone to the latest sw version, i dont see any improvement on the signal. signal-drop problem still exists. I'm so disappointed about this phone. It has a bad design.

when im using a memory card reader to put files on the stock 2gb memory card of my n81, there`s a message that pops up saying that my memory card is disk protected, that either i remove the write protect or use another disk.. i checked my memory card & it doesn`t have any passwords on it..
how can i put files on my memory card using a memory card reader considering the aforementioned dilemma..
hope anyone can help me..

i dont think updating the fw will solve abcd`s problem. i mean it`s a hardware problem not a software problem.. just my two cents though..

I checked nokiausa website. They have antivirus, PC suit, media player softwares...but they don't have any software or firmware update for this signal problem....:(

I know because before the N81 was released NOKIA had to delay it because they were having problems with the location of the antenna and signal.
Go to the NOKIA website and download NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER.

seems like the heat from the palm of my hand causes the antenna to lose signal. If you leave the fone on the table, the signal on the phone picks up again. I called nokia repair service and complain about this problem. They told me that's the way it's design and my hand shouldn't cover the antenna when using the phone.... :(

when you remove the battery cover, you notice a somewhat gold plated rectangle just below the battery, in the same area where the antenna is located?

The store won't let me exchange for the phone. This store is not authorized nokia dealer...How do u know this is the problem nokia experienced. How do u get the firmware update?
