New Update released 11.0.0.045 nothing omproved but 76 MB really took 3hrs plus.Nokia N81 cam is not autophocus so with flas at auto blank screen comes,apart from poor 2Mp cam.This is a fault.The top slider is thin thats why its rattles on day one price dropped to 400$ within monthfrom 600$.The hype created bt Nokia of NGage is still coming sooon rest is history.

Like i said mine is V10.0.035 date is 15-10-07. Haven't tried to update yet. But i know there is a new V11 FW for both N81 and N81-8GB.

For those moaning about the weight have compared to the N95 have you not thought it weighs more simply because it contains more hardware? The N95 has lots of software but lacks the RAM (64MB) and and battery power to support it.
The N81 is a lot more balanced. If you're after an entertainment phone this is a lot better than any SE out there at the moment, and I am a die hard SE fan as all my previous phones have been walkmans in recent years.
As soon as I plugged in my cheap £30 PX100 headphones (around $50 US dollars) I was very very impressed.
The WIFI also works perfectly and Nokia Maps is very stable.
My only criticism is the build quality.

Some of the comments about sound quality are quite funny. If you use proper headphones such as the Senhesier PX100's you will realise this is a very very good sounding phone. Yes it does not sound like true HIFI but it sounds a lot better than my old W850.
Camera is ok nothing more, but then I have an SLR for taking pictures. Display and battery life are good.
My old gripe is that build quality is not on par with my much cheaper £30 instead of £300 Samsung C300 and my older Sony W850.
It is better than the N95 if you can live without some of the features but it is not in the same league as the N95 8GB though I suspect the N81 sounds better.

This phone is cool and the music quality is high clas. Navi wheel is very successful. Battery
don`t give up.

@Tsepz_N81: U didnt respond to my earlier post and direct question to u; check it and reply. Anyway, what is the date accompanying your firmware version number?
It seems to me, and mark - I said 'seems' - that d latest version of d Firmware is d V10.0.032, which, if u check d release date shows 20-09-07 (for my phone). I say this cos after I got my phone on d 9th of Jan, d first thing I did even b4 inserting my SIM was log onto Nokia website to check for d latest firmware. Go to http://europe.nokia.com/link?cid=EDITORIAL_528996 , insert your product code to see if there is any update available. For version 10.0.032, there is no update.

@Muzi: if you are in South Africa, check out cacell at www.cacell.co.za; they are private importers and their price is R4250 but the phone isn't covered by the 2-year warranty as you would get if you bought from any of the networks. I hear Cell C sells it for around R4100 and will probably carry a two-year warranty. Check them out.
