        @ Tsepz_N81

Main reason is because of the advanced Toshiba DAC33 audio chip. Just like N91 using the old version, they just trimmed down the size and improved audio clarity. Plus they added 2 more audio chips for NR (noise reduction) and low frequency (increases the background instrumental sounds). All because of s2pid EU volume restriction.

        @ symbianworld

LOL that sucks, but it's funny! Guess Nokia marketed it the wrong way.

        @ matt

I'm not from South Africa, so I can't help you there bud. But here are some good headphones and their prices. You'll just have to search for them or ask someone who knows where to buy them. Prices are in US dollars.
        -Sennheiser HDD 650 (around $420)
-Bose QuietComfort 2 ($310. These are noise-cancelling headphones BTW)
        -Sennheiser PX 100 ($40!!)
-JVC Gumy (only earphones. As good as iPod earphones however)

I think try Incredible Connection, HiFi Corp and GAME they should have those headphones, not sure how much they are thou.
          Jon2
Lol,true, Nokia should have just marketed this as a Music Phone NOT gaming IMO.
Do you by any chance know why this is heavier than N95 and N95-8GB? Not that it feels heavy but why is it heavier when it doesnt have most of the features of N95-8GB?
          Symbianworld
Ye some disappointing results for N81 there.

Here a big head to head in term of benchmark:
            N95 vs N82 vs N95 8GB vs N81 8Gb vs N73ME:

Yah. That was a bit odd, considering that this is the primary phone focused on the N-gage platform. 3D acceleration and TV out would've been better for viewing and playing N-gage games. Oh well. We get a music player with better sound quality than an iPod anyway. Yes, I do own an iPod myself.

I agree, although i love the N95-8GB's huge screen, camera and the fact that it has 3D graphics acceleration plus FlashLite3.0 to view YouTube and other sites like that.
The N81 realy does have a better build quality. Im just a little frustrated at the fact that Nokia didn't give us 3D graphics acceleration HW and TV Out in the N81.

                    Yes Tsepz_N81.
I agree with you. You can watch videos with high bit rates with no probs. No lagging whatsoever.

And I also agree that a cheaply built W910 doesn't look as stylish and sleek as N81.

BTW I just bought a N95 8GB. Frankly, I have to admit, N81 is more stylish and fashionable than N95 8GB. And its sliding mechanism is a plus factor.

                      Hi Tia
You will love the N81, its a very stable phone, looks a lot better than a 6110-Nav, and its great for Music.
Im not sure if MTN have it, i know Virgin and Cell C (where i got mine) have it.

Yep,im sure that guy told you that because at the time only 4GB were available, otherwise i was told that 8GB cards will be no problem.
True same, change my music library often, but i also like watching my South Park episodes and Movies on my phone. Love the fact that this can handle high bit rates very well so i never realy have to convert videos.

This doesnt look anything like your cheap w910 walkman.

I didn't know that. I asked my locak Nokia personnel, they said it can support upto 4GB now with the latest firmware. Yes, it would be nice if N81 can support the soon-to-be-released 16GB microSDHC cards.

But since I already bought a N81 8GB, it's fine with me. 8GB is enough for a person like me. Besides, I always change my music library like every month.

The standard N81 supports up to 32GB mem cards, and so a 8GB mem card wont be a problem, im using the standard N81, and there are 16GB mem cards coming so it will be cool to have that much storage in this device.
