For the buyer-N97 is a class of its own so I cant tell you whether you should buy it or not, personally I dont like touchscreen phones, and with that hardware qwerty keypad that phone IMO belongs to E series more than N series. And if youre up to multimedia than N86 would be a better choice with its 8 MP camera, wide angle lens, variable apperture, good music quality through earphones and stuff like that. But you can bet that SE 995 is nowhere near N86 in taking photos, video recording on N86 is stunning and SE 995 offers only QVGA video recording which cant compare with N86 too, i wold say that if youre gonna buy an SE phone youd better go for the C 905 which has excellent still camera but than again video rec is inferior to N86... So if you want an all-in-one multimedial smartphone, go for the N86, you wont regret it!

Thanx stvn7 and fab, I just installed some themes and my N86 is much more fun with all these themes! And speaking of that thin line under the signal indicator, it appears on my phone only when i use Nseries Indigo theme, but with all the other themes that thin line doesnt show up, so I think its up to that particular theme, and not up to the phone. I have this phone for a week now and its working perfectly all the time, even with indigo theme on, so I think there is no reason to panic.

kuo yen lung., 20 Aug 2009all users of nokia n86 pls notice the thin line especially ... moremaybe the thin line you're telling us about is the thin line when in standby mode just below the signal icon right up to the battery icon.

n82 user, 20 Aug 2009Thank you very much stvn7 and anonymous orig for your reply... morewell with all those i think after you finally get to have then i think your answers will be answered. The heavy weight adds solid feel, the keypad is easy to use, the slider is solid no wobbly feeling, the visibility is still okay when in direct sunlight but i think you won't be always under sun would you hehe. Its just the speakers thats a bit average. And you won't even miss xenon, and you could even use the dual led as torch when taking video shots. I have the indigo coz i really like black color phones like my n82, and i really love using dark themes. So i think don't look great on the white imo. So get an n86 now and change your name to n86 user :-)

hey guys, i can seemany of you have your hands on the n82 but im not sure if should go and purchase it yet...
this is mainly because thier are many new phones out this summer.
this includes the n97, w995 nd many more... so which is best can the n86 keep up with them or not. is it worth it or no????
please i need some advice on which phone to buy.
So what do you think what phone shall i get???

all users of nokia n86 pls notice the thin line especially wen u open the message folder there is a thin line rite below the signal pls do notice it wel and my phone just keeps on hanging and i am not satisfied wit n86 by the way can anyone let me know after n86 should i buy sony ericson W995.let me no guys ...

I cannot stop thinking about buying it and have done a lot of research ... I am spending so much time on it, I think I better buy it and end the torture. From the photos I like white but it is not available yet... What is your opinion about he colour? Which one do you have? I bought n82 silver because I couldn't wait and then came out black and I still wish I had black... :-(
Anyway, how is the Indigo black in N86? Do you think its worth waiting for the white (in your opinion, of course)?
One last time, do you really think giving up the following are worth it?
n82 is candybar
n82 is lighter
n82 has xenon
n82 has soft camera key
n82 has better speakers
n82 has better sunlight visibility
How is n86 keypad? Is the screen size difference noticeable? Is it too heavy to hold in one hand?

I have an N82 like you do. I want to know yo... moreyes it is worth it. Before when i was just thinking of getting one i did a lot of researching, reading reviews and lot of watchng videos in youtube about n86. So finally i finally decided to get it. The 1st time i got to hold it in my hand you could say it was love at 1st sight hehe. Comparing both phones, n86 is really fast in switching from menu to other applications compared to n82. Camera is awesome producing great quality photos even in very low light conditions, coz the dual led is really bright compared to other led, but of course xenon is a lot brighter and we all know that. And btw it was the lack of xenon that was holding me back in buying n86. But when i finally saw a photo comparison review on n86 and 682 then it was time to get it. Honestly the photos are great especially when you see it in your pc even the actual size of the photo is great. Internet browsing is super fast compared to my n82. Aside from those there are a lot of great added features, fm transmitter, kickstand, fp2 transition effects and a lot more. And the amoled display is really bright and colors are crisp,the downside when used in direct sunlight, its a little hard to see but still you could see it. Overall n86 is a great upgrade from n82. You won't be disappointed. But thats my opinion. Hope i could be of help.

May be you bought this fone from a local dealer and your fone is not original. Nokia N86 is the vere best fone because i am using nokia for a long time and N86 is better then Nokia N97.
