Anonymous, 30 Jun 2009Nokia to roll out devices with 12MP cameras and optical zoo... moreYes, but I think without optical zoom, even Sharp can't make such a device, and they are the most advanced on Earth, they have phones with 10MP CCD sensor, big screen, Softbank(mobile carrier in Japan) has a phone with 3.8 inch XGA screen(really, Google it if you don't believe me), have waterproof phones, and has a solar phone too!!! Wow, Nokia, if you want to beat Sharp, you have to work HARDLY!!! About N93, is a very good device, but Sharp take it easily with the 910Sh, and Sony Ericsson Japan with So905iCS, here in Europe the N93 dominates then, but know Samsung has phones with optical zoom too, so the problem is even bigger! Well, good luck Nokia!:D

BUT,
BAD POINTS:
1) sound quality is bad
2) Phone Settings not good enough
3) hard to access the memory (no
clear content list)
I hope a software update fix's the
above.

I've already seen all the reviews about N86 in AAS. There are 2 things I've noticed about the camera and dual LED flash performance of N86. The dual LED is bright but not as bright as 6220 Classic's Xenon flash. N86's camera cannot make the rotating fan appear stationary in pictures, something that N82 can. I've always been amazed by cameras that can make fast-moving objects appear stationary when captured that's why I bought N82. And sadly N86 cannot do that.

Guys I was doing some research on the internet of how bright these leds can really go,
Im basing it on the fact that led's can be made brighter than xenon. Also its not how bright the flash is to hurt your eye but how well it can illuminate an image. Let it be a full size flash with high brightness or a smaller flash with lower brightness, it can be configured to get the same luminescence by adjusting flash compensation. The n86 can perform well in flash as of the bigger aperture and more light sensitivity. Remember, led's can go way brighter than you can imagine. Xenon's are used in cameras for quick light. The shutter speed on my cam is 1/4000 and led wont do good in that case.

if any body is wondering the unlocked eu version has tri band 3g which does work here in northern california on the 1900 channel

best video recording and best camera hands down, i would say omnia hd but the audio recording is absolutely garbage

The trend now is that the pair of speaker is at the opposite ends of the same side. All Nseries phones released after N95 8GB with the exception of N78 have their speakers at the opposite ends of the left side. The N97 has its speakers at the opposite ends of the right side. That position is more suited for watching videos in landscape mode.

its my 3rd day with it and i am feeling same experience ther is no difference in volume at 60%,70%,80 and 100%
so far i am much dissapointed with speakers
i mean a phone costing 550$ should have at least average speakers.

the speakers are crap compared to n95, it is probably consistent with being the worst sound in the n-series line

n86 speakers suck no loudness what so ever, once you hit 60% volume there is no difference @70%, 80%, 90%, 100% volume, the distortion level just gets higher
