Anonymous, 28 Feb 2009Mate... you're way behind in technology. That analogue or m... morethe size of the aperture controlling the light amount entering the image sensor , the image sensor is CMOS in N86
nowadays digital camera aperture size are all FIXED??
Canon Powershot G10 aperture size:
f/2.8 - f/8.0 (W), f/4.8 - f/8.0 (T)
got FIXED??

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Mate, you don't understand both... neither lens aperture nor CCD shutter. You're simply a poor user, whilst I'm a researcher.

At initial leak, I hated this phone simply because it looked like another by-product of N85. But hell... search for N86 in youtube. You'll fall in love with it. I can't wait for its release!! Gonna get one on the first day!!! (but I really don't know why Nokia even bothered to release the black one out....Everyone is gonna go for the white one!)

I think this nokia phone among the best in 2009. E55 and 6710 navigator also the best phone from nokia in 2009. Don't know which one to buy.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Mate... you're way behind in technology. That analogue or mechanical lens apperture you are talking is a thing of the past. Modern miniature cameras have lens with fixed fully opened apertures... amount of light processed by the imager is controlled by a CCD shutter, a continuously varying shutter according to the amount of light entering the imager.

bad news for nokia 5800:
First-run Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handsets have defective speakers!
No Comments By Will Park on Friday, February 27th, 2009 at 9:51 AM PST
In Announcements, Hottest Hardware, Nokia, Symbian
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is now available in the US with North American 3G frequency support (read: AT&T (NYSE: T) 3G support)! Good news for Symbian touchscreen fans with an itch for all things music, to be sure, but there’s something you should know about early-production Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 5800 XpressMusic handsets. According to Nokia, all 5800 XpressMusic cellphones manufactured before February sport defective speakers that will fail after just a few months of use.
The problem, apparently, is rooted in a low-quality component supplier serving up sub-par speaker units to Nokia’s factories. The problem was quickly identified and Nokia moved to not only replace the defective speaker units, but also kicked the garbage-pushing component supplier to the curb. The move has payed off with high-quality speakers now being shipped with all Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handsets. It would stand to reason that the new Nokia 5800 XM NAM is free of the defects that plagued earlier European models.
