Since u dont have 3g, so you can change network mode to only gsm instead of dual. It will increase battery backup by 20-30%.

I am really ... moreBelow is the best way in my knowledge to convert videos to a format supported by n86:
1.Download latest ovi suite and install it.
2.Connect n86 via usb cable in "media transfer mode"
3.Now just copy the video you want (any format, any resolution) to your phone, while copying it will ask you whether you want to convert this video to a format playable by n86 or just it has to copy without conversion.
4.select convert video
5.It will convert video to a format and resolution playable by n86 (generally .wmv). No manual settings needed. Just copy/paste required. It will take time to convert large files. In my case it took 3 hrs to convert 1.5GB avi movie and final size was 400MB.
(tested with .avi, .mp4 format source file)

My N86's battery is also good. It last 2 days with level 3 brightness, couple hours of music, 1 hour calling and time-to-time sms. I have GSM network, no 3G. So i don't know its performance on 3G network. .
Those who says that they can't even browse internet for 5 mins, they are probably 100% lieing or they have defective phone.
Our N86 is just Great !

I am really ... moreConvert to 'mp4'. Resolution - 240x320. Frame rate - 30 fps or less but not more than 30.
You can also play 'avi, divx, xvid, mpg, etc' videos without converting on N86. Just install the latest ''Core player (Cracked)''. All videos with resolution 240x320 wil play smoothly. But videos with resolution 480x640 wil not play smoothly on N86.

I am really confused. Sometimes mp4, wmv, or 3gp video formats worked and sometimes not.

i bought this phone and had it for four days now.. first the earpiece didnt work, the battery longevity is less than 12 hours! i have even set the backlight resolution and timing light to minimum. had it replaced but i still had the same batt.. phone only lasts less than 12 hours.. while im writing this my phone is already running low and i charged it 10 hrs ago.. i will return it to nokia to have them checked it.. bit aside from these, the phones is the best!!

i m using this phone for 3 months now. battery doent seem to b a problem for me but i would lke 2 tell u one thing. wen i went 2 buy this phone they showed me demo and phone just got switched off.i then charged the phone and had a word with the dealer. the phone was in charge for abt 2hrs. and then wen i started 2 use it the phone went blip!!!!. i immediately changed the battery. my kind advice is the factory fitted battery has a problem and wen u buy this game change the battery. mind u i didnt buy this phone from some local dealer but i bought it from nokia priority dealer

looks at how well the camera copes even in low lights n with digital zooming..u will b convinced that this is the best for either taking video or pics.
i don tink samgsung or SE can win this tis video with its zoom!:)

hello everyone, im using nokia n86 for a week right now. to tell the truth this is one of the best phone i have ever have( the best phone i used in order: 1. nokia e63(im using right now) 2. nokia n86 ( just used) 3.nokia 5800xm 4. nokia n79 5. nokia 5320xm) so lets start with pros
PROS:
1. the image quality is really great. it deserve to win TIPA awards because of the coloring is real!! contrast is enough,noise is really low. even at low light condition. dynamic range is really great!!( my camera lens is square shape which is smaller than round shape in the first n86) i try use my friend nikon dslr( i forgot the model though but the price in store is almost rm 5000 camera with lens thing) i try to catch the image in macro,landscape,potrait and night. and the result is in macro,landscape and potrait in n86 has a same image quality as nikon dslr but in the night photo nikon dslr won because of xenon flash. the led flash of nokia n86 is really good too but not so bright as xenon but it is acceptable.
2.the music qulity is really great through headphone!! the bass is high, the treble and vocal is really clear. (i use nokia 5530 xpress music earphone) so for music lover who like to hear music using earphone, this phone for you
3. the battery life is great. who says the battery life is not good. i heavy use this phone( 200 messages to my family,friends and love ones,listen music 2 3 hours,1 hour web browsing using wifi and call like 20 to 15 minutes it can hold 2 and a half days(whereas my e63 if i heavy use it can hold 3 and a half days) so it is good for a multimedia phone. remember is MULTIMEDIA phone
4. The price is reasonable for multimedia phone. it cost only rm 1440( 280 euro i think) in nokia original store. reasonable price eh??
5. it is all in one multimedia. im still exploring more though.
cons:
1. The loudspeaker performance is quite bad, it focus more on treble than bass and vocal. so you will know it produce more hissing sound.
2. the slide is wobbly and shaky if you close the slide but if you open the slide it feels sturdy and durable. it always happened with my past handsets slide( nokia 6288 and x3). thats why i hate slide phone.
conclusion:
so i will give you more review in couple of months later so anyway i rated this phone 9.5/10 and highly reccommended

8mp cam dvd qulity amoled screen wifi 3rd genert led dual slider and alot moreeeee sure all that needs bateery juices !!!!
for me 36 hrs betnween every charge cycle that great !

(,"), 04 Apr 2010Why would u compare a camera phn to a music phn..haller..? ... moreI don't compare camera phone to music phone.Because Both nokia n86 & sony w995 have 8 mp camera but ,nokia n86 is better because wide angle,carl zeiss optics and dual led flash as compared to sony w995.If u compare nokia n82,then nokia n82 have only advantage of xenon flash.It has not 28 mm wide angle as nokia n86 have.And most important is nokia n86 is 8MP camera and nokia n82 have 5 MP camera mean's 3 MP More pixels captured by nokia n86.Nokia n82 is good in dark area.

for people having battery problems, here is my battery test for backup using music player. This may be used for comparison.
[b]Case 1[/b]...... fully charged, brightness at level 3, network mode is 'only gsm", phone in general mode, no calls, no sms and nothing running other than music player, in music player stero widening is on, bassbooster is on, eq is at bassbooster effect.
music playback via loudspeakers at 100% volume: 6hrs continuously.( screen off during full playback )
power consumption: 0.80 watt(if volume is set to 10%, them consumption will decrease to 0.60 watt).
[b]Case 2......[/b] fully charged, brightness at level 3, network mode is 'only gsm", phone in offline mode, no calls, no sms and nothing running other than music player, in music player stero widening is off, bassbooster is off, eq is at default.
music playback via headphones (out of box one) at 100% volume: 23hrs continuously.( screen off during full playback )
power consumption: 0.20 watt (whether volume is set to 10% or 100%)
i think music playback is short of 7 hours (via head phones) from the playback of 30 hrs as claimed by nokia. And this is sufficient. As 30 hrs is only possible under test contditions (involving room temperature etc)

Nokia N86 is nice phone, I love the phone, but the main problem comes from the battery run out. I can't even browse with it for 5 minute, even with full charge. Please any body that want to buy N86 should get ready for similar problem. My opinion is "Dont buy the Phone"

And ur basis of winnin is the sound quality f u rily wnt a camera phn 2 trash w995..try n82 far better than n86..camera features mch faster n clearer esp.in d dark..no mess up shots...n86 fails many times on that aspect..
