Nokia N8 is the last n-series device running on symbian OS. All future n-series fones are gonna run on meego, a linux based OS. That's what Stephen Elop, Nokia's CEO had to say. N9 is next in the line.
So, we may actually never see this N87 in real.

anon, 30 Nov 2010Nokia have dug their own grave with Symbian... the most unr... moreThe touch based symbian may not be good and lag behind in the competitiön but the non-touch S60 v3 is the best non touch os so far! Just look at it,has everything and nearly no bugs due to firmware updates. It's a pity that the world has taken into touchscreen phones filled with great but not very useful/practical features. They eat a great deal of battery life too!

Note that all that is known about this phone, which is identified as the N00 (ie. testing) is from an eBay auction for the prototype.

So anything on here is purely guess work at the moment, and it's a product thats unlikely to ever be released.

im still using N86 and totally happy with its performance...
N87 definately will be an upgrade for me...but in the mean time...N86 is enough for me...

Keep in mind that this is a non-touch screen phone. What OS do you want it to run? iOS? Android? AHHHHAHAHAH!! That's a big joke! I would like to see any non-touch screen phone that runs on android/iOS. Symbian is the king in the non-touch screen phone world. No other OS can beat it in terms of flexibility, number of apps and features and usability.

If this rumour is true, the this will be the king of all non-touch screen phones!!!!

This project was canceled way back in June 2009.
I'm amused that rumors are still coming :)

Nokia have dug their own grave with Symbian... the most unreliable operating system on the market. They need to ditch this and use Android; or anything else for that matter. I work in the industry and since the N95 Nokia has just gone downhill. Also the build quality has taken a tumble; especially the lock buttons on the side. It amazes me that people still trust Nokia so much. Great specs (if true) but Symbian will destroy it's chances (and the handset).

Thank god! Nokia is making non-touch high end phones again! Nokia is the expert when it comes non touch phones,i always loved the old N-series! Nowadays the touchscreen phones are tøö feature packed with irrelevent features and they compromise battery life and user friendliness and durability. Hope Nokia would make more like this, N79 ,N95 gb, N82 etc. Definitely going to buy this if it's real! :D
