Breaks my heart that the N90 does NOT have vibration.

In the business environment, this is a requirement. How could they leave it out ?

    Hey thanks for the info. So how's N90? Any idea whether the close-up function will be included in the N91?

        To be fair, I think we all should reserve our comments till we have the phones in our own hands to confirm the functionality, vibration and camera quality.

        Pointless to debate or dramatise the whole issue when u DONT even HAVE the phone !

        take a break, guys !

          @Htw

          Go to camera setting, set your cam to Close-up mode. When you're ready for a shot, hold the lower shot button until u see the green indicator light is on (Which means the image is focused and is locked) then press fully. Or you can refer to your N90's userguide book :)

              @Nanda:
              Re: Go through the N90 pics

              I'm happy you sound reasonable now. My only comment about the pictures taken in Taiwan (http://www.pbase.com/exatbodi/nokia_n90_gallery) - is that they were taken with "interest", the right time and moment. In addition, these pictures are more authentic since EXIF information are still intact in the images. I’m writing a simple user review about this phone as well. As soon as it becomes available in my local market, I will buy it. I will collect all user-taken pictures soon with their name and permission. This is just a personal hobby. No money earning involve for I have many. LOL.

              Re: Nokia Vs. Sony Ericsson

              What skater42 is implying is that when it comes to commodity of cell phone, it's Nokia all the way and to reiterate, Nokia has made it to the most powerful position. IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU SAY NOKIA HAS CRAPPY CELL PHONES AND SE HAS THE BEST. People won’t care. For me, they are both ok. It's not merely base on your personal preference alone. You cannot tell people that a phone being heavy and big is not best buy. Your preference is different from others and mine as well. Yes, Nokia makes good marketing, and to use our "sentido common", IT'S WHAT BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS DO. People wake-up

              Look at Microsoft, is Windows perfect? is it bug free? You, you there and you, what’s your computer’s operating system? What’s the world’s 90% of operating system? Mac is great, Linux is good. But who has the best marketing strategy? Who has the most consumer friendly system? Who has the widest support for software and hardware? The most developers? WINDOWS.

              Who has the world’s widely accepted mobile operating system? Will software and hardware developers create software/hardware for phones that are not common on the public’s hand? Again, people wake-up.

              Re: Vibration

              Yes don’t buy the N90 if it has no vibration. You can buy the Nokia 1100. It’s one monster of a vibration phone. You can even use it to shake chocolate scrambles.

                  My dear dj_ashtray, you may be right about Nokia in Europe. But my dear European friend, Asia has by far the most phones when it comes to the latest models, and one reason why the latest models appear in Asia first. Europeans are stingy, as I have many European friends and U wont believe the phones they carry, ancient is a mild word. Nokia's and most other phones makers , have developed phones with an eye on what Asians want. Be real .

                            On the 3g.co.uk forums it says UK release is August 27th. Apparently interest is high, so you are unlikely to get on of the first few batches.

                                  LOL @ unknown

                                  My dear unknown,

                                  first of all, I'm German. I've lived in the US for two years and now live in Australia. I grew up with Nokia but am by NO MEANS a FAN of Nokia. I'm just stating the obvious in my previous messages.

                                  I own a Sharp V802 which beats Motorola & LG by miles, but Nokia has always been successful in the European market because IT WAS the pioneer of mobile communications. Up until 2002 I think that Nokia, Siemens and Ericsson were about the only phones Europeans would own.

                                  As I said, America is different. Due to CDMA & iDen which Nokia hasn't participated in until recently, different brands have taken preference. It's logical, Nokia IS a GSM focused brand and the few CDMA handsets they have don't compare.

                                  The N90 does put up a new benchmark for other brands. The only other brands that can compete are SE & Sharp so far. I believe that competition is now more difficult than ever for Nokia. Other brands bring out better built phones for a better price. Seriously, who wants a 8800 for a flippin $AU1200???

                                  The main argument my dad always had was this: "I like the way Nokia works, it's intuitive and simple to use."
                                  Now most of their high-tech phones have symbian OS which really defeats this argument, and the few low-end phones, well.... for people who just want a phone they'll do.

                                  Don't get me wrong, I don't like Nokia handsets, I'm a Sharp fan and love my flip-phones. But no doubt Nokia has been one of the most successful producers so far, also in the US.

                                  no matter how much you hate Nokia, there are just simple truth's to it.

                                      Oh my dear skater42, it seems like you think Nokia controls the whole communications. I'm sorry but You're wrong, this N90 is the same sh*t that last Nokia GSM Models, and I totally disagree with you About Nokia is the Gsm Master, and "pioneer". Perhaps Nokia be the world's most selled brand, but let's remember that Europe is the biggest buyer in the world when we talk about cellphones. But Why Nokia sells a lot and Why europe is inside this discussion? I don't know where you live but if you could go to Europe or if you've gone; You will see in every single corner Nokia Ads, and Nokia Dealers, and Nokia cellphones are cheap and accessible for all ages, even a child carries a Nokia Cellphone (i hope you've heard sometime the word "marketin'" and "availability", if you know them you´ll understand). Exactly I don't know why Mot,SE and other brands don't make an exhaustive sellin' campaign in Europe, but I can tell Nokia is a very good marketing agent.
                                      Don't Cheat ourselves. Have You seen this cellphone specs? i Know **w0w** the only things that lacks inside is a Coffe-Maker, but have you realize about its sizes and weight... I guess my laptop is Lighter. Besides I don't wanna imagine the cost of this huge piece of bad-made plastic. Skater have you checked out who sells more cellar phones in North America where the Market is a little more "fair"? Pleez check it out, after, take out of your mind that Nokia Fantasy and finally i could suggest you a Good Moto/SE Phone. Accept it, this cell Phone it's one of the biggest crap made by Nokia and Believe it's difficult to choose beetwen all the models.

                                        SE vs. Nokia

                                        My view on this, for the American market, is that Nokia again established itself way before SE did. Sony Ericsson as a brand did not even exist until a 3 or 4 years back. Ericsson was never popular.

                                        Nokia is a GSM specialist, and with the few networks and special bandwith's (850 & 1900) I think that Nokia had found a new market. Tri- and Quadbands were born.

                                        LG, Samsung & Motorola: Compared to Nokia these brands produce CDMA and iDEN models. Both networks are much more common in the states than GSM is. I think that's another reason why they are more widely used, correct me if I'm wrong.
