    Skater42,

yep, there are camera phones now with noise reduction features but it hasnt been perfected yet. with sharp, they just made the picture a little blury in order for the pics to be noise-reduced... oops. sory. even in the digital camera world, it hasnt been achieved yet. let's wait for someone who will be able to invent a pefect noise reduction algorithm. i'm sure, the one who will accomplish this 1st will be rich. hehe.

      Omar,

which do you prefer? Mobile Photography (N90) or mobile audio and music (N91).

you will not find enhanced photography with the N91. And you will not be able to find enhanced audio capabilities in the N90. Best of both worlds: Buy them both. haha.

its a wonderful phone probably the best available right now in the market cuz its symbian and cant be compared to ordinary phones like k750 cuz they are not symbian. but i will go for n91 when that comes to the market cuz u dont have to buy a seperate card as it has more than sufficient memo and plus has 2mp. i think its just the perfect phone

        Oh my...

The Nokia 6310i was definatelly great, but why do you compare the two??? It's like comparing a current BMW with a 1990's model. Things have improved in quality and they will be implemented in new ones naturally. I doubt that quality from non-multimedia phones is any better. Most modern models, like the Sharp GX30 & V802, have noise-reduction you can turn on or off.

If you don't know how to use the Multimedia Applications then leave this phone alone. It's inappropriate to just write these phones off ans "toys" and "wanna be's". I have always found use for the images and functions, but I also know HOW to use them for my needs.

em...N90 is definately a great camera phone, perhaps even better than k750i!?!? don't know, but can't wait to find out.
I wonder why hasn't there been a review or comparison done on NEC N840...it has a 2mp camera that's even better than K750i's. GSM ARENA should compare N840 and N90.

            john,

regarding the "no phones yet have the ability to eliminate noise". you are correct. but on the brighter side, most shots from the N90 are successfully IMO. that depending on the environment, lightings, etc. AND THE PERSON WHOSE TAKING THE PICTURES. I think you should visit this thread, the user is able to use the potential of the camera by "using it correctly" somehow.

Regarding the noise, even the 8-Megapix comsumer digicam generates noise. it is due to the minimal image sensor design. No wonder why nikon's top class prosumer camera with bigger image sensors at 4.1 megapixel can rival those 8 MPs. and if you are quite conscious about the noises, chances are you cannot avoid them that easily. that is why most photographers ready their editing software for noise reduction/removal.

The N90, with its small barrel of camera has a very small image sensor that is why we cannot however expect too much from it. but with my preference, it's quite enough for an beginner or amateur photographer to use. actually the number of pixels does not matter anyway. it's merely base on quality.

to person on about vid calling.i know no one who uses it or of only one person besides me who has 3g.it is so blocky if you move the phones at all its terrible. anyway.all has turned out to be in ferior ,either data speeds are not fast enough or the phones arent.Whats happened is as 3g has taken so long to come out most 2.5g phones have the facilities now and that said vid downloads are not that impressive to me.there are good phones in the past to which benchmark signal strength should have been noted as the 6310i and my siemens s45 but as usual things just get worse, ive been put up to 2.2 mb broadband &things are slower?theres also the batt life and this looks very poor.

                    I totally agree with JOHN.
How come we have phones that don't work as the pones must to, and yet we complain about how low is the screen resolution or how low is the megapixel camera in the phone?

My favorite phone was and always will be the
NOKIA 6310i . That is without any doubt the best cellular phone that ever been produced up to this day. The strongest batterry life
                    ( at least 3-7 standby)
                    Loud and clearest earpiece sound
                    and strongest reception
(on top of all, 1900/900/1800 world phone!)

                          TO VIDEO CALLING:
                          Since nobody (including GSM arena)
ever talks about it, it must be of a bad quality (probably 30fr/per second is the most. Just like on reg. digital cameras).
And it costs $800?! I don't care whether it is UMTS , GPRS or B.S.

All those , megapixels, 262k screens and MP3s sound exciting (I need them so much in my wireless life). But what about the basics?

                          EXAMPLE:
1)Non of the phones yet, is able to eliminate background noice on a noicy street (oh, sorry, I forgot the technology men only have brains for megapixels and MP3 in the cellular phone but in no way they can make a phone that works as a phone first)
2)Most of the phones (except normal sized Nokia and Sony phones) don't have a smooth , clear and lound earpeace sound
3)At least in the United States , we still don't have signal in the rooms without windows if the building has been made of a hard metal!!!! (I know it is more of the carrier job to deliver a signal into those building, but I and most of mature minded people don't care!)

SHAME ON ALL YOU TECHNOLOGY CONS! FOR not being able to deliver the basic and important feautures first, and ony then your B.S. megapixels, 262k screens, and MP3s!

Omg, u said only nokia software is written in symbian and not SE? u gotta be kiding man, just that nokia is using symbian 6-series it doesn't mean that SE is not using symbian too. SE is using symbian 7-series. Do some research first before stating any statement!

To be honest I like it- Im not a fan of Nokia and havent been since the days of the ancient 3210 (If anyones old enough to remember them!) But I get all excited looking at this, I was a little reluctant to want it 'cos I already have a decent mp3 player (iPod) and I have a digital camera but to be honest, the luxury of having a thing this size in my pocket capable of recording short videos I can sent to other people, or quick QUALITY snapshots to others is very tempting-

I have a SE P800, which at the time was top banana! But now I feel so outdated 'cos I dont have video capture and the update just seems logical. I agree with the comment someone made about carrying a digital camera, mp3 player AND phone around is a little pointless, having this instead is like carrying a watered down version of all three in your pocket- Its not as good as an iPod OR a digital camera, but it saves room in your pocket for other things! (Unless youre carrying a bag ..But thats besides the point!) lol

THE MAIN FEATURE OF UMTS IS VIDEO CALLING.
                                    Why nobody talks about it?

How many frames per secon is the video calling on UMTS network?

Jason_S - I was in the same situation as you, due an upgrade and witing for the N90 to come out in the UK. I finally gave up yesterday (as I was so desperate to get rid of my crappy 7200), and went for the Sony k750i. Seems like a very good phone, and the photos are good quality. It will take some getting used to though, as I have always had Nokias before, and am used to how they work. I guess only time will tell whether I made the right decision or not.
