I love the phones features and all but I really hate the design! It looks like a toy! And I think 181 grams is too much for a phone. I like how they put a Linux OS in it and make it really open though...

The n900, the iPhone, and the Sony Ericsson Satio, are the hottest phones this year!! I think they're all good with their own capabilities and none of these are better..

abc, 13 Sep 2009Does anyone know when Nokia releases the version that suppo... moreYou can pre-order it already off from nokia's site, but I would recommend buying from expansys-usa cus it's cheaper ($549 i think compared to $649+), but it only has 3G for T-Mobile USA (1700/2100).

omran, 10 Sep 2009To all the visitors of GSMARENA.COM I have some question:
... moreThe device has not been released but based on the demos and technical specs, on paper, it will not eat at the iPhone's market. I am an iPhone user. I have the 32GB 3GS. I have had all the iPhones before.
I'm not a fanboi.
Just real honest and can acknowledge greatness where it is. Yes the iPhone has some shortcomings but they are almost all overlooked by the quality of the device.
The iPhone may not be able to do bluetooth file transfer like regular phones but it is multimedia king. A simple thing like the screen- capacitive touch against the N900's resistive touch. Resistive was a bad choice in my opinion and it was good of them to put it in the X6. And the apps in the AppStore make it a dedicated, multi capable device- pardon my oxymoron.
Therefore, it is not better than the iPhone.
As far as the Blackberry goes, you will find one or two of them making a change as long as the phone provides good enterprise support. You can tell- most iPhone users are not affected by the lack of physical keyboard. It is not needed. But it is here in the N900 and blackberry users are addicted to that tactile response. Most people will have it to compliment whatever phones they have but until Nokia can prove that the Maemo is nothing like S60, then they will have a major breakthrough.
It is not a revolutionary or game changing device but one to supplement what is already on the market.
I am interested though...

hahaha moto now joins the N900 thread, welcome!
well it seemed that majority of the mobile phone experts were not happy with the new motorola android phone, there where no wow factor or something distinct to offer, its just one of the phones out there!
it cannot be compared to iPhone or N900. well better luck next time moto! c",

Dro, 12 Sep 2009Maemo? LMAO Or is it finding Nemo? Typical Nokia fanboy. Ho... moreRofl, you do know that android is not Linux, but Linux based right? There aren't even that many apps as opposed to Maemo, which by the way Linux apps can be ported faster and easier as opposed to android. On the other hand, Nokia didn't even announce the N900 at their Nokia World, now why do you think they didn't? The N97 is symbian, which is their main priority, and not Linux/Maemo5 at all. Plus, name a phone running android that has better hardware than the N900.

Dro, 12 Sep 2009The motorola shules is gonna knock this out tha ballpark. i... moreWell Moto was pretty stupid for entering the phone competition with their pathetic Morrison, WTF is up with phone manufacturers making dumbphones (with the only smartphone thing being multi-tasking)? They just entered with a pathetic android phone that is worse than htc's offering. So far Maemo 5 is better than android, since there has been a Maemo community way before the android os came out. As for the Sholes, if the specs that we now of are true (3.7" screen, 854x480 resolution, and slimmer than the N900) then it'll probably go head to head with the N900, just maybe. Every phone manufacturer is waiting for google to update android to 2.0 at least to take them seriously and start makig phones for android. So far android is behind every single Mobile OS out there including wm in regards to apps/hardware/community. The Sholes would have to have a TI OMAP3430+ or Snapdragon to be worthy for developers to take android and start creating apps and other stuff for it, if not the Sholes will be outdated even before leaving the building. But if the Sholes does have the same specs, or even better, as the N900 then it will definately stand a chance.
