Next time make sure after you update the sw (if you have to). To also format the HDD and follow the guidance in the tops and hdd userguide. I suspect some app corrupted the gallery dB on the HDD and a format as well as update would have done the trick.

went from version 1.00 to 2.10, i did it on nokia .co .uk, not sure how longits been on there as the last time i tried was a month ago
i did reboot my phone twice and then updated me phone software, so i thought it would sort the gallery out, but no joy, so waiting for another one to come in stock now :-(
and it does it to songs that was playing fine before, so i might of had a bug or something to make this happen
hopefully me new phone will be the latest as it is out now on nokia software updater

Almost a month since I got myself the phone - Excellent Audio quality - I'd recommend the phone to a true Audiophile, it's worth the money -- However, the fact that regular Videos won't play piss me off !! Tried a couple of converters with lousy results - SUPER ain't so SUPER really !! If any1 has 3GP2 Videos {they seem to work} or a Video that plays on their N91, please email me at romncoke@gmail.com or post a link where I can download them from .....

Clare - when you say you updated did you update to 2.10 or was it an update to 1.10 from 1.00 (ie some operators still do not have 2.10).
The issue you have is likely the gallery database was corrupted and a full sw update AND format of the HDD would have solved it. This can happen if a USB connection is not closed down properly. (It will happen to the SD card on the N73 as well, USB MASS stirage is an unfogiving protocol that is why IPOD uses iTunes and I like to use Windoews Media player - MTP for my N91).
As for the pausing songs etc note the N91 only supports bit rates of up to 256kps ripping. It may be able to play songs above that however I suspect the CPU starts having issues. The HUman ear has problems telling the difference above 192 Kbps.

This problem I started to face when I was in 1.10.xx.It often said HDD not available which was really disturbing.But when I updated to 2.10.13 believe lots of crappy things it has done for what I have to format it and it never said HDD not available.I dont know even if it is upgraded to 2.10 (in your case) it will be getting rid of this problem.

Look its not an issue of n91 it is also an issue of n73 too.Couple of days ago one n73 owner told the problem exectly what you told in this forum
Now here is the solution
connect this phone via USB mode to ur PC then you get N91 as a local disc.Open it then choose properties then choose tools where you will pick the disc check options.
There u only have to put the tick mark on the 1st box then see what happens...
But dont do ds so often!
I think this solution not only refer to ds problem but also for other crappy probs

well had nothing but problems with this phone, it decided to not work on saturday, everything was gone from my gallery, but on the pc it was all there, i even rebooted it and cleaned it all off, but still no joy, i even updated the software as it is availble on the uk one now but still no joy, so had to send it back and wait for a new one in stock, if not will go for the n73
it supposed to be a music phone but its crap, some songs pause after 3 secor change half way through even if you take it back off and put it back on it plays ok and then it wil happen to another song which was playing fine
the thing is i know this phone would have problems as when they put so much stuff on there and the big memory, nokia seem not to test this phones properly, and i believe this was rushed out as they kept putting it back
and o2 pulled it off after a month, so it has serious problems

Dear HoneyB,have you upgraded ur firmware to 2.10.013 (by pressin *#0000# you can check your current version) ,if you dont then do now.
This phone works and rocks!

It been 3 months I have bought N91 & its been gr8 n exciting experience to get an experience of d edge-over technology.... awesome sound quality (even beats i-pod), quality picture & high speed video frames...
D only thing that pains me is that this kool looking phone is exactly a luxury item n needs a gr8 care n concern... :(
2 times software has corrupted and hard disk is unavailble... i m really sad to see such bad performances with a brand name "NOKIA"...
does any1 have faced similar situation n can any1 suggest how to tackle it...!?
