Thanks You for your reply, i am in india and i dont have a phone from network, i need link so that i upgrade it from 1.1 to 2, it have wifi and i want to knnow the 2 is from n91 with wifi or with out wifi, I tried all updates link overe here but all of them are dead, so i dont know what to do , i need help

To Aditya- Glad i could help. First off I suspect you got 1.10 nit 2.00 because India has probably not moved to 2.00 yet. I would try the uk site again at the end of the week or so. A flickering display however sounds like a loose cable (another poster had that and the Nokia care centre just quickly inserted it firmly in) so you may need to see a service centre. The N91-1 sales in india dropped I was told simply because in Indis no one cared about WCDMA and WLAN and wanted to save some money so they buy N91-5.
By the way - teh N91 (N91-1, N91) has 3G so that other poster going on about the N91 not having 3G and others having it was wrong. But an N91 :)

need help regarding the firmware unable to update from 1.10 to 2.00.056 wher is the update avileble rather than the uk site..i have already updated from 1.00 to 1.10 ..was expectin it to be version 2.00.056 but its showing the same (1.10)plz refer to my previous opinion ..i have n91-1

How do you check what version software my n91 has?
Does the n91-1 has different version of software compared to n91-5?

N series are special edition from Nokia with higher price.
N91 has many features including Wifi,symbian,3G,music quality (via headset) and average camera but sure the highest price.
But if you don't need/use symbian and Wifi than you can choose SE W900i as an alternatief high end music phone.It has better camera and 3G also,it has 470Mb internal memory and you can expand with 2Gb external memory.(I hear a rumour that it can also accept until 4Gb external memory but I don't know if that's true or not).
If you don't need 3G than W810i is a good choice also with normal size phone and nice model.Only the video capability fewer resolutie in compare with W900i.

Thanks so much for the help I upgraded my firmware np. I do have one annoying problem with the new firmware....whenever I turn on my N91 it shows that my calls are forwarded. Even tho it's set to my VM when I don't answer my fone, I just go into my call forwarding & turn it off, but it's annoying to do that everytime I turn on my phone....any suggestions?

thanx a lot for the precious advice i downloaded and installed the nokia software updater from nokia.co.uk my older version of firmware was 1.00 now its been updated to 1.10 wher as every one has the 2.00 software .i badly need it coz i can see my display fliccer whenever i call some1 or if some one calls me .its beeen said that the problem of disolay is solved in 2.00 firmware so want to update to that version from 1.10 and i guess the production of n 91 -1 is stopped because of this display problem here in india.i did it from the uk site should i try doing it from the usa site ?i mean gettin the nokia software updater from the usa site?

hi.. i am looking forward for this cell.. but ppl say that n-series are not so good.. i need decent camera, music and memory.. with these requirement only two cellphones are in my eyes.. SE w810i and n91.. please tell me which one is better and in what respect.. i want to buy cellphone asap.. please reply

You can use AGILE MESSENGER, it has MSN, YAHOO, GOOGLE, ICQ... there´s a beta for N91 that works great... give a try before you buy.. http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html - you can always install OPERA and use yahoo online messenger through WIFI.

Upgrade: Yes you need an internet connection. I suppose dial up will sork just it will be slower. Do not use the N91 as your modem to do it (one person did that)
N91-1: WCDMA and WLAN (costs more), N91-5 (GSM only and no WLAN) cheaper
Messanger: I tthink there is a Yahoo client being made available for S60 3.0 devices but N91 doesnt ship with it.

hi .i am aditya from india and i am tryin to upgrade me firmware from 1.00.028.14 to the latest one avilible on nokia.co.uk i have downloaded the nokia software updater from this site ,but the setup is saying that minimum required space is 256 mb and the setup terminates ..i want 2 ask u guys the proper way to install it and some solution over that problem.. my comp config is well enough to match all the requirments but still its gettin terminated

The N91 sw is not for download over the air (ie over the GSM or WCDMA) but is available for over the internet. The UK site has all the current variants available even the Phillipines, asia provided your country or operator has approved it

To add to that last message, the link (http://www.nokiausa.com/support/software/softwareupdate/1,8838,,00.html?)to the firmware upgrade on the nokia-usa.com website is a dead link, I can't find the link anywhere on the site. Does anyone know where the firmware upgrade is on the nokis usa site?

To Mman & Pappy,
I bought my N91 in the philipines in may & I noticed that you can update the firmware via over the air on the http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate.
But there isn't a link to update the firmware via over the air on the nokia-asia.com website.
I'm asking if there's a difference in firmware version from the www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate website & the version that the nokia dealer in the philippines has.
If I download the firmware from the www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate. & install it on my N91, will I have any problems since it's a phone from the philippines?
