Nokia N9 specs sheet revealed, a Snapdragon CPU on board?

24 August, 2010

Nokia are having a hard time keeping their unannounced prototypes to themselves lately. Even their upcoming MeeGo-running flagship managed to escape their R&D labs and was caught in the wild last week. But it doesn't end there - this week we get to learn more about the specs of the device.

A Chinese site published what they were able to force out of their early prototype. The most intriguing bit we found there is the 1GHz CPU, which is said to be Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250. The Qualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs mentioned something about a Snapdragon-powered Nokia in February, but it was supposed to run Symbian, not MeeGo. That could mean either that there was a change of plans at Nokia or that there will be more Snapdragons to come by the Finnish manufacturer.

The second leak also confirms that the Nokia N9 will pack a 4" WVGA touchscreen and will weigh good 160 grams - both sound believable. A GPS-receiver will naturally be on board, along with most other connectivity options you can think of - Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and HSPA.

The camera will be able to capture 5 megapixel stills and 720p videos. The Nokia N9 RAM will be 512 MB, while the built-in memory is said to reach the incredible 64 GB - we gotta admit, that seems a bit over the top.

While all those rumors certainly look credible, we are still eager to see an official announcement and find out if all of them are true.
