Nokia releases a beta of their new touch Image Exchange gallery

05 January, 2010

As it seems the devs over at Nokia Beta Labs know no rest. They just released an early beta of the Nokia Image Exchange application that adds a new touch-optimized image browsing on compatible smartphones.

Nokia Image Exchange

It's been a long time since the Nokia Photo Browser first saw daylight. It seemed nice but the Nokia Image Exchange app is more than just an image gallery.

There are two things that make the new Nokia Image Exchange special: (1) it was made with touchscreen smartphones in mind and (2) with its help you can not only view images but easily upload them to your Facebook account.

The following video demonstrates how the app looks like in action. Keep in mind that its user interface and features will be improved in the final version. For instance, the current beta version lacks accelerometer support.

If you want to give this new app a try, follow that link and don't forget to share your impressions with us in the comments section.

The Nokia Image Exchange has been tested on Nokia 5530, 5800 XpressMusic, N97 and X6 and should work on the other touchscreen S60 devices. If your Nokia smartphone has no touchscreen or isn't a smartphone visit the Ovi Store for an appropriate version.
