Nokia teases new phone for India - probably the Nokia 7.1 Plus

Ivan, 26 November 2018

Nokia is prepping to launch a new phone in India soon and the company took it to Twitter to tease it. The promo shows a backdrop of roses, which is illuminated to show the outline of a notched screen with the tagline "Expect More".

The likeliest protagonist of the teaser is the Nokia 7.1 Plus, the global variant of the Nokia X7, announced last month in China. However the phone could end up being named Nokia 8.1.

The teaser could be referencing the Nokia 7.1 Plus' HDR-compliant display and/or the Night Red variant of the Nokia X7.

HMD will hold an event on December 5 in Dubai at which it could show up to 3 new phones. Smart money is on one of those being the global variant of the Nokia X7.

There have been rumors that HMD will unveil a phone in India on November 28, which could also prove to be the global variant of the Nokia X7 - namely the Nokia 7.1 Plus/8.1.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus will offer a 6.18-inch IPS LCD, a Snapdragon 710 with 6GB of RAM, a 3,500mAh battery, a dual rear camera comprised of 12MP + 13MP snappers and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
