Android user, 08 Jul 2024Why typical brightness is just 500nits?500 nits is enough for inside use, also this phone is 260$ and lacks basic things like nfc or an ultrawide camera

galaxy s20+ better. for 60$ cheaper you get
nfc,
wireless charging,
8k video,
1440p screen,
better cpu,
ultrawide camera,
heck literally just a better camera in every aspect

Why did they even bother launching this outside of india with no NFC. Essential feature for most smartphone users to make payments. None user replaceable battery is a joke.

- iPod Touch: A circular metallic button attachment on the back, they used to sell colorful wrist loops for it.
- iPhone 5C: a colorful budget option that you can color match with different colorful cases that had holes in them. (They even made an ad about the color matching)
- Airpods Max: colorful magnetic earpads that you can color match.
I'm glad to see Nothing do it better than Apple. (I just hope they won't stop third parties from creating accessories the same way Playstation sued DBrand for making competing PS5 Face plates... 😅)

A phone with the processor d7300 and sensor imx882 would be priced higher in India than the launch price. Shit phones are priced higher than this. Main deal breaker would be the no IR blaster and headphone jack for me, as in budget or mid-range phone we look to maximize the utility factor. Rest is all good.

Woul'dve been amazing if they added somekind of 3.5mm jack add-on/module as a separate option that can be bought for those who want it. Otherwise sucks that it only has a mono speakers.

I however think nothing is doing something great and standing out in the "Plain phones" crowd but its more so just gimmicks 🤦

No removable battery no buy. Also phone doesn't have basic features like NFC and Stereo Speakers. Carl Pei is just running a marketing company. No indication bought to the table. Just a phone to sell overpriced plastic backs and Accessories.
