nubia Red Magic 10 Pro review

Design and ergonomics

The Red Magic 10 Pro retains its predecessors' bold, gaming-focused design language with subtle updates. Its overall shape is reminiscent of the blocky and angular structure of the Red Magic 9 and 9S Pro, combined with a glass back that now sports a slightly refreshed pattern beneath the surface. While the changes are minimal, they are the distinctive part compared to the 9S Pro.

The phone is available in four color options: Shadow, Dusk and Moonlight. Our unit, the Dusk variant, showcases a semi-transparent back, offering a glimpse of screws and intricate patterns while still concealing most of the internals. This industrial aesthetic remains a signature element of the series and yet, looks a tad more simplified than usual.

The rear camera module, flush with the glass, continues to impress with its minimalistic design. Despite its triple-ring appearance, the setup includes only two functional cameras, 50MP wide and ultrawide shooters, with the third ring serving as a window for the cooling fan. A small LED flash sits just outside the module, adding a slight protrusion to protect the rear when placed on a flat surface.

RGB lighting is present but restrained, with a glowing ring around the cooling fan, a small Red Magic logo at the bottom-left corner and and X mark next to the cameras.

The front design is unchanged from the 9S Pro, featuring a flat 6.85-inch display surrounded by thin, symmetrical bezels. The glass sheets on the front and back remain unnamed. The under-display selfie camera is so well integrated that it's nearly invisible.

The frame is constructed from aviation-grade aluminum, ensuring durability while maintaining a premium feel. Smooth transitions between the glass back, front, and metal frame enhance the overall comfort and solid build quality.

Although the shape of the device may be polarizing - some find the flat sides and sharp edges nicer to hold, others don't like the sharp corners delving into their palms.

Despite its size and weight, 229g and nearly 9mm thick, the Red Magic 10 Pro is ergonomically designed for gaming. Buttons and controls are thoughtfully placed, with tactile power and volume buttons on the right side centrally. The capacitive triggers, the Game Space switch, and an air vent accompany these. A second vent on the left side ensures optimal cooling without cluttering the design.

The bottom edge houses a USB-C port, SIM tray, and loudspeaker, while the top includes a 3.5mm audio jack, secondary speaker, and an IR blaster. Three microphones are placed around the device for clear communication, including one next to the Game Space switch for gaming chats.

While the Red Magic 10 Pro design doesn't stray far from the 9S Pro, it delivers the same premium, gaming-centric experience with minor refinements. The updated back patterns, clean lines, and balanced RGB lighting make for an objectively nice-looking device that feels solid in hand.

Dude, RM10pro is priced half of ROG Phone. Why not instead go and rant on their page instead of here? lol

2 years is nothing ... for updates my opinion as below since phones are getting build to last longer; I plan to use my next upgrade phone (am using note 7 & 8 now) most probably s25 ultra for at least 7 years ! 0-2 years = it's your mand...

It is minimal. Especially for the category and price. So, your RM8 Pro will get barely one or maybe two (in the future?) major Android updates. And maybe +1 year of security update. Your phone is not even 2 years old. Your RM7 which is few months...
