nubia Red Magic 10 Pro review
Familiar triple-camera setup
The Red Magic 10 Pro sports a familiar triple-camera setup on the back and a 16MP under-display selfie on the front.
- Wide (main): 50MP OmniVision OV50E40 (1/1.55", 1.0µm-2.0µm), f/1.8, 18mm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS; 8K@30fps
- Ultra wide angle: 50MP OmniVision OV50D40, f/2.2, 1/2.88", 0.612µm; 8K@30fps
- Macro: 2MP OmniVision OV02F10, f/2.4.
- Front camera: 16MP OmniVision OV16E1Q, f/2.0, 1/2.8"; 1080p@30fps
But unlike last year, the third camera is actually usable, albeit useless in nature - a dedicated 2MP macro shooter. The other two cameras are 50MP, but instead of Samsung, nubia used OmniVision as a supplier.
Daylight photos
Main camera
The main camera produces somewhat unimpressive stills, even during the day. Sharpness is okay and the level of detail of close subjects is acceptable, but things like foliage look a bit mushy. The dynamic range isn't very wide, with regular clipped highlights, dark shadows and even loss of color in well-lit scenes.
At least the camera seems consistent indoors and outdoors.
Here are a couple of portrait samples.

Ultrawide camera
The ultrawide camera is downright disappointing. We expected more from the 50MP sensor, but the photos look soft, lack detail, and the narrow dynamic range often leaves clipped highlights behind.
Selfies
We see a significant improvement Compared to previous under-display selfie camera implementations. The colors are okay, the dynamic range is pretty wide for a selfie cam, and the detail is aplenty, but we've definitely seen sharper selfies around. It's most probably due to the camera's UD nature.
One challenging condition for the under-display camera is when taking photos with the sunlight shining onto the display. The lens flare is more visible than on a normal selfie unit.
Low-light photos
Main camera
The low-light scenes taken with the main camera are okay but nothing to write home about. The Auto Night mode sweeps in most of the time to balance out the highlights and shadows, although the shadows do appear a bit brighter than we would like and bring out more detail. Sharpness isn't great, though, and the color temperature tends to be warmer than it should be.
Ultrawide camera
The ultrawide camera struggles at night producing very soft stills with lacking detail and more limited dynamic range. The color temperature is even warmer here.
Video recording
The handset can record 8K videos at 30fps using its main and ultrawide cameras, while 4K footage caps at 60fps. The selfie camera can only record 1080p clips at up to 30fps.
Stabilization is available on all cams and resolutions except 8K.
The quality of the daylight and nighttime videos from the main camera is not ideal. Once again, we see highlights that are too bright and not the sharpest rendition. Colors are nice and juicy, though.
You can check out the playlist below, which includes multiple video samples.
The ultrawide footage isn't great either. Dynamic range is even more limited as highlights are clipped while shadows are crushed. Sharpness could be better too.

Dude, RM10pro is priced half of ROG Phone. Why not instead go and rant on their page instead of here? lol

It is minimal. Especially for the category and price. So, your RM8 Pro will get barely one or maybe two (in the future?) major Android updates. And maybe +1 year of security update. Your phone is not even 2 years old. Your RM7 which is few months...
