But, as all O2 mini users may be aware of - the O2 connect feature is very prominent in the start menu - I cannot even remove it. But when I try to connect to it and try to download updates - I am asked to register. I go to the website, type in my phone's IMEI, but it is not accepted since I did not buy it at an authorised dealer.

Accepted that I will not get after sales service, but I am using a genuine 'O2' phone. When the phones are available for sale through un-authorised dealers, through no fault of mine, why am I not eligible to even register as a O2 user for as basic facilities as soft/firmware updates and ringtones???

now i want to now how to get updates for my phone and how to mp3 ringtones for my phone and aslo how to keeep themes in memory card

This phone is crap. Mine died in no time from "liquid ingress" the O2 company said. And there goes the warranty. No comeback. I bought it in november and it played up from day 1. Don't buy it!

The phone is great, except of course the camera, but the attitude of the company O2 SUCKS!!!

I bought my O2 mini in Kathmandu - it came with a German user manual, German software and without warranty. Nothing unusual - since that is the way things are here, and I do not expect free after sales service on that account.

But, as all O2 mini users may be aware of - the O2 connect feature is very prominent in the start menu - I cannot even remove it.
