O2’s service simply put sucks; just hope you never have to go there! My wife’s phone was out of service for nearly 8 months of her ownership. The first issue happened 18 days after purchase but she had to fight 2+ months for an in warranty repair. They did not believe she had not dropped it in the sea! The second issue took 5 months to not resolve and then they lied to her about its return. Now she has a refund but no “We are sorry”; just silenced by a non disclosure agreement, a copy of which the O2 representative refused to leave with her after she had signed and got her money. Several emails requesting the same have gone unanswered. O2 is so sick that maybe they will sue her because I’m writing this but to hell with them. O2 is a company with no morals and a service attitude to match. Even if their products are good, with a back end like theirs you are best off giving them a wide berth and looking elsewhere for a PDA phone. The product in question was an XDA IIs but it seems from posts to this site that it could have been any of the O2 range. A friend of mine had the same and over a 2 year period needed a new motherboard and 2 new screens, all out of warranty. His cost of ownership was +56% of the original purchase price. Finally he had it stolen and then totally lost his marbles and bought an Atom Exec. That too is giving him grief in warranty but soon it will start costing him again to keep it going. Our local O2 vendor has never had a happy O2 customer and now no longer sells them unless a customer twists his arm and it’s a special order. O2? – NEVER. We’ve even banned them from our restaurant; we never want to see one again.

Good Day!!! I hope someone can help me out on this... I can enable my WiFi very easily and can connect to my desired network, however, whenever I open my Internet Explorer Browser or my MSN IM there's a pop-up comment saying "Unable to connect: You have no modem entries created, and no network card present." Please advise... Thanks

hey there..for heavy used..you can just overclock the processor up to 624mhz instead of 520mhz..you can just install the XCPUscalar..then it can perform well with playing the music, surfing the internet, messaging at the same time..

                this is a great phone

                superb large screen
                fast processor (520mhz)
                windows mobile 2003
                great apps !!
                connectivity (WIFI,IRDA,BT)

                bad:
battery life ( u need at least 2 batts if u are a serious on the road gamer)
sometimes hang (soft reset does wonder )
                soft speaker T.T

                guess what

This is a great phone, trust me once you get use to the big screen you can live without it.
Yes I know you read lots of problems here, but its only true for those who dont know how to use it correctly, if your a computer wiz you know how it works inside and out.

But if you dont know anything about how computers inside and out, then this is not the phone for you, You have to understand its limits, Its like this old saying, dont buy a car unless you know how to drive the car.

I've had this phone for 2 years and I love it, I can always handle my work and files on the road. Only thing I dont Like is the Camera. I wish I was 2MP, but a VGA Camera is still good.

So my tips for you is, if your a computer wiz, then buy it, if your not, please dont buy this phone, you will only end up hurting it, let the phone find the right kind of owner, so it will be used correctly.^^

great phone, i agree with tony that anyone who talk bad about this phone dont really know how to use it.. ive been use it for 6 month.. only 2 times freeze. just close program after use it with running program in memory manager, cause if u just tab 'X' it doesnt really closed. if u not do this, memory will full and it will go slow and going freeze. this problem happened to my friend who used atom but he have sell it before he knows what the main problem is

I have a question about this XDA mini s, i have had the phone for about three days and have purchased a 1gb mini sd card for storage. The only thing is, i have put video's on my sd card, and when i use media player for playback, it runs slow with the visual being spikey and stuttery. does anyone have a solution to this problem?

                            thanks in advance,

Good phone . Easy to use , and more stable than other XDAII phones like: XDAIIs, or Mini . I bought it 8 months ago , and have used it till now . It's very powerful and strong , although it's a litle big . The people who said it bad are the ones who don't know how to use this phone.

This PDA is a let down. The problems I get associated with it are the following:
                                - constant freezing
                                - daily need to reboot the machine
                                - inconsitent dial up
                                - very slow performance
                                - inadequate as a phone as people can't really hear you
                                - too big to lug around (blackberry is smaller and lighter).

                                Conclusion:
Don't buy it. It is not practical and doesn't really work. What really surprises me is that I would have thought the suppliers would have tested these before letting them loose on the market. I'm just glad its my company's money that has been wasted and not mine.
This phone is a gross fraud with regard to its marketing claims.

The XDA has some good features like GPRS and GSM so you can connect to the internet wherever you are to check your emails and football scores on Saturday or the Word and Exel Documents. But it's not for normal people, it's for extremely patient ones as it makes you smash it on the wall more then 5 times per day. Completely waste of your money. It freezes every time you open it and start an application i.e photos, documents, emails, messages etc. Imagine you need to make a quick phone call and you have to reset it 2 times before you actually make the call or receive a call. The battery problem is a disaster. I had bought lots of software from the HANDANGO shop but not used them all in the same time and had to reinstall them about 10 times over and over again because of the battery that goes dead and you loose all the programs, saved documents and the settings. This is ridiculous. How have they made this PC Phone like this, you forget to charge your phone and you loose all the data and the software installed in the phone? Can't believe it. I have decided not to install any more stuff on it and just try to sell it on eBay for peanuts. Unless you buy a keybord programe you can't even type a message or email with that silly little stylus in the tiny characters in the phone's keyboard. Takes you 10 minutes to type one email or message. Look for something else on the market before you buy this or any XDA phones as they're all the same.

Wonderful stuff if you are using as an office assistant. The 3.5" screen provides better ease while reading emails, surfing the net, seeing the pictures and videos. Wondeful sound on the headphones as well as the loudspeakers. Supports SD card. Very user friendly. The only issue is with the large size which one needs to compromize with for the large size of the screen.

My wife and I upgraded a year ago both getting XDAIIi phones. And yes as a pocket PC they seem to do everything you could wish, but as a mobile phone they are a real pain. They often freeze-up on call answering and you have to reboottime after time. And the video starts up so easily on its own. Going from one function to another can cause them to freeze up also. The phone keypad is slow to sluggish. Battery life is limited with us having to charge up every day, and that was from new.
Not all bad news though, if you can be patient and not get frustrated with the crashing, that massive screen makes pictures, video, internet and games real fun, and as long as you remember to backup all data to an sd card.
But were now going back over to conventional phones. These are too complex if you really want a phone.

This phone is absolutely amazing. Besides the battery life, I cannot figure out another reason why not to get this phone. The only question I have is if GPS can be attached to this phone and if so any suggestions? Please mail me at saumil83@hotmail.com
