You can use different tones for message alert or even for calls...if you are using WM6 just saved the tones to windows folder on your fone and when you are done with that just open the settings and you will now see that tones on the options...

for any questions regarding Windows mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 6 for XDA IIs email me at alainbmateo@hotmail.com and also I have lots of applications, games and themes for XDA IIs..

This is a good phone but there's a price you have to pay... batt, and other accessories are very expensive... so if you stumble into this situation where you have to replace something, its a pain... know what im sayin... but the reward is, LOADS of really, really cool apps is avail on forums for FREE! You can even hide you're mistress's text messages and scandal pix from your gf, wife. Smashing! Fantastic!

A useful phone but it's big and slippery so slips out of your hand and pocket too easily. A rubber grip would help. The clip belt tends to jolt off the waist when running or moving suddenly. I keep dropping mine therefore, and it gets scratched. If you knock the screen and lose the view, the phone has had it and has to be replaced (yes, I've done this too!) Battery does drain fast, because the side and front buttons are over sensitive and activated by accidental touches - inevitable when it's in a pocket or bag. A digital camera case carried around the neck is a good solution to most of these problems. Switching it off means having to reset it when you turn it on again. To avoid data loss, always back up contacts and files to the SD memory card. From there, they are easily saved to computer. Very useful if the phone lost, damaged, or stolen, or if data is lost due to it shutting itself down. Files, including contacts and numbers, can be transfered back onto the phone via a card again. I love the hand writing recognition facility, and notes & drawings by hand. CC

Hello All! I just want you to know that I love this phone specially it's multimedia function. It's been two months now, and I'm still very satisfied using it. I've watched transformers movie several times in this phone and my friends were really amazed specially my GF.=) Though I admit that the battery drains very fast but I have no problem with its size. And since I have some discoveries maximizing its multimedia features, I would like to share it with you:

                                a) Video Use - It reads MP4 and Windows Media Video (WMV) format. But I prefer the WMV format because of the Windows Media player installed in this phone. But you need a converter to do this. You can use DVD to WMV converter program like Xilisoft. Size of 1 movie range from 500 - 800mb after conversion, 100-200mb for music videos and 400mb for concerts movies so you need an SD card with higher capacity (I think it only reads up to 2gb).

                                b) Audio - It can play MP3 and WMA for music using the Windows Media player. For the incoming call ringtones, it only reads WAV and WMA format (copy paste to My device/Windows/Rings). For text message ringtones, it can only read WAV format of up to 1mb ( u need an MP3 to WAV converter program if you want more ringtones for this). Copy paste WAV files to My device/Windows.

Enjoy your O2 Xda IIs. Hope you learn something and hope that you can also share something for me.

P.S. (Where can I buy body casings, accesories for this phone?)

This Phone isn't recommended for people typing/using the keyboard for extended periods of time as the keys rather hurt after a short sms, You are better off getting a HTC TyTN or TyTn II as their keyboards are better. I Love this phone but the keyboard is probably the worst out there on a Pocket PC. You cannot upgrade the ROM via SD (unlike some) Nor via Bluetooth, You WILL need the CRADLE or SERIAL cable. On a plus side this phone has got to be one of the oldest phones that can be upgraded to non official WM5/WM6 roms as the specs of the XDA IIS at time of release is pretty close to the best you can get at the time and still is on par with WM5/6. If you can get this on Ebay it'd be the cheapest WM6 machine you can get.

Since few weeks ago every time that I activate 'Album' either from Program List or by clicking a file's icon causes SOFT RESET. Quite a trouble. The only thing I changed is my Alarm setting (not sure if they are related by WAV files).
                                        Do anyone has a solution?
