Recently graduated from a Mini to a Neo (Found the Atom too expensive, and too few WOW features, for an upgrade) and my reaction to it is a mixed bag. Looks as cool as the mini, but the speed is definitely an issue. One review said that the 200 Mhz would not make much of an issue since it was like comparing an AMD with an Intel processor which have different speeds quoted but not much of a difference in performance. Using the Neo though exposes the time lag - nothing is instant, so the processor is really a downgrade. I personally found the mini very easy to use, so that is another downie with the Neo.
On the plus side - the all black body looks cool. With the mini, there was a slight colour variation at the back between the battery cover and the body. The WiFi is awesome - adding a SDIO WiFi card on the mini used to do the trick for me, but that meant I could not save anything big since the card took the place of my SD card. Moreover, the Neo supports 2 GB cards so that is great. I like the communication manager, and the camera is way better, though I still find it redundant. I would gladly trade the camera for a processor that rocks....

rying to decide between the atom or the dopod 818 pro. The dopod is cheaper and I heard it was faster, but this was before the atom rom update. Anyone know which is faster and better now?

price:higer than Dopod818,imate those are same spec
stability:more stable than all other O2 PDA
performance:Texas Int,195Mhz,low end processor(common is Intel 415Mhz),high stablities than intel processors.
personal comments:I think that the major factos affect the stability is the processors.look all the PDA which are using Intel processors are all hell..try to think what i said. And the ATOM is the worst Pda i have used, reboot randomly, cant boot smoothly, lacks on using, etc.who intend to buy O2 products ,think before you regret.

I am using Dopod 818 pro, I find it slow too. I have compared both the spec of NeoO2 and Dopod 818 pro. Basically both are identical only the outlook is a bit different. The 2M camera is fine but you have to have a very steady hand to take a snap. A slight shake will make the image blur. But if you use it to take video it is a No No because of the slow processing speed you will get distorted and jerky video images during play back.
