How can you change the ring tone on the XDA Orion? Can you download polyphonic tunes to it?

Does anyone know how to change the T9 predictive text dictionary - as by accident I added a couple of typos by the "add word" option - and now it keeps on prompting them to me when I use predictive text - very annoying and would be delighted to know how I can delete them from the dictonary - help me Obi Wan - you are my only hope

Great device - much more user friendly and compact than the IIs, Mini S ect, without compromising on functionality.

the phone ring loudness is controlled by editing the settings of a profile - or just select outdoor as your profile and thats as loud as it gets, certainly as loud as my other phones (many of).

                Following up and answering questions.

The phone runs clearvue office suite and reads Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat files. This suite can be installed on the storage card to prevent using up valuable phone memory. I’ve also ported to the card the temp internet, cookie files and whole load of MP3’s. Pocket TV is a great app with loads of demo videos to download. Wi-Fi is great – I’m sending and receiving my emails in the dentist, coffee shop etc for free. After several weeks of use, I’m now used to its little quirks and features & I’m very happy with the phone. Stick a 1G card in and you can carry all your apps, data and even a whole movie around with you. Search the net for tips and tricks (it's an imate sp5)

                Only a couple of grumbles:
The storage card is inside the phone, so to change it (i.e. put your sat nav tom tom in) you have to take the battery out.
You can’t add text to a task.

                Awesome phone

                  Answer for CM
1: an alt+tab like feature ? (easily accesibile through a shortcut, to swing between the applications opened)

Task manager is on the phone, it can be one of the top icons, so easy to navigate to.

2: an alternative application for reading plain .txt files ? (I read this and i don'tlike it : "ClearVue Document: It opens documents created in Microsoft Word.
Wordpad is available FREE from the net. I installed it and it works great with TXT files.

Unfortunately, this browser is designed to show pages on the small display in the original layout, which makes the usage of the joystick inevitable. Viewing document's content as a plain text would have definitely been more practic")

                  ??? No it wouldn't - It's works for me.

I've taken delivery of an XDA IQ (I-mate SP5). Here's my opinion. Great phone, quick and intuitive. Bad points - Cannot send and recieve emails from the same account you sync up with, not really a problem as you can create a duplicate account & send / receive leaving messages on the server for outlook to collect next log on. Also Tasks, you cannot add text to a task. I downloaded notepad from the net, which works nicely. WiFi easy to set up & works well. Camera OK, MP3 tones for all events. A memory card is a must - You'll soon use memory up. All round, it's a nice, small powerful PDA phone. I emailed O2 twice with technical questions and got replies within 24 hours. A happy o2 customer with a cool phone.

I do! You can hard reset the phone by following these steps:
                        1. Switch phone off.
                        2. Hold down both left and right soft keys.
                        3. While holding down softkeys, hold power key for 2-3 seconds (timing critical)
                        4. A screen will come confirming desire to reset to default. Press '0' to do this.

If reset screen doesnt come try again. Sometimes it takes few tries but it works!

It's an ok smart phone I guess. Ideal size and leight weight and powerful enough to run applications such as Tom Tom Navigator and cool games such as "Worms World Party" for Smartphone. Windows media however doesn't have enough codecs installed and compatible enough to play videos and music videos. A good application to allow the smart phone to use it's full potential is Pocket Tv, and it's free too for personal use. Visit www.pockettv.com. Just busy figuring out to assign ringtones from mp3 and wav to the phone at the moment?

                                don't buy this if you:
                                1. use your phone only for talk & sms.
                                2. don't have any calendar, task, mail and/or contact to sync with.
                                3. don't like to open your office document on your phone.
                                4. don't like to install thousands of software on your phone.
                                5. never imagine to carry your pc in your pocket.
smartphone for smart user. TQ! http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/mobilephones/0,39051199,39342568-39095786p,00.htm

                                  Helllo,
I want to buy it, but i am not convinced yet. Please help me with some answers. I am used with Nokia 6680 and I like some features my phone has. Does the 8310 have :

1: an alt+tab like feature ? (easilly accesibile through a shortcut, to swing between the applications opened)

                                  Thank you so much, CM
