Great, exactly what I need, a combined Address-Contact PDA and Phone. Very compact, great to use, fabulous Synch with Outlook. Q1: how do I send a contact via SMS. So easy on every other phone I have owned...

Hi. I got my XPhone II about a week ago. I wanted to get the O2 XDA II Mini, but instead I got myself the XPhone II because of my tight budget. But to my surprise, the XPhone II works well and I loved it. It's a great phone to have. Here in Malaysia, mobile phone vendors are selling the "normal" type of mobile phones. So owning a smartphone like this one will surely turn a few heads. Parts? Batteries? Covers? Repairs? No problem. There are many O2 dealers here in Malaysia. The replacement parts are cheap and easy to find. Truly, I am happy with my XPhone II.

Did someone noticed that putting files in your temp directory always get deleted after power off/on? Is there a way to keep those files you want to have without regediting values? I've downloaded unlock program which seems to work excellent, everytime copying back is a nag. Thanks.

The O2 Xphone II does not support beaming of files to another phone via Bluetooth.

The 3rd party software, Smart Explorer can do.

Oh, yes, that's true forgot to mentioned, you need to take the battery and wait few minutes before putting back. From then follow what I've written before. Should work, don't worry and your xphone2 is up and running!

Freshman: try a hard reset, or your settings for the screen timeout/backlight is too short?
Hard reset is done by the pressing the two black buttons (left/right just below the lcd). Hold the soft buttons and then pres the power on/off button (it takes some excercise). Release the power on/off button but keep the L/R soft keys pressed, until you see a message for factory settings. Relase L/R buttons and choose '0' button to continue. After that your phone is back in default factory mode. Hope this helps. BTW the O2 website doesn't work, the helpdesk is slow to react. Pity, the phone is stacked with well thought functionality.

Just got it 2 days ago. Everthing has been fine until this afternoon....the screen went dark but the LED light shows good status. No matter what button i pressed, nothing happened. i charged the phone for about 10 hours last night, so don't suppose it's because of power problem....
                    Please help!!!

                      Another thing I look for:

How to edit any shortcut in O2 xphone II? I mean, you can display the shortcut (file) properties, but cannot change the directory path. I've got an app which I want to customise to /storage card/programs/ etc. Any ideas, or is there a system util for this?

Oh. I got it. Found with some testing around the sequence of hard reset = soft key (L/R) + Power Button.....

Excellent choice! Only question is how to hard reset this phone? I bought mine in HK with only the Chinese manual supplied. So again, hard reset for this phone type. Thanks!

I've been using xphoneII for about 2 months now. And i find it to be an excellent device. I'v read thru the other opinions and realised that most, if not all, of the problems can be solved. its just the matter of whether the owner is willing enough to read thru the manual or explore the phone's functions and capabilities.

I bought this phone 2 days ago, and I think this phone, good enough for using. But, I'm so surprised that this phone only can send data via infra red, for example, sound file, on the other hand, this phone cannot send picture via bluetooth, or infra red. also, this phone can not loud speaker..

How on earth do you do a "hard reset" on the "Xphone II".
I have tried removing the battery for 5 secs and holding down the voice record button then rebooting the phone .......etc
                                    without any luck.
phone running Mobile Windows 2nd ed.
                                    Please helpppppppppppp.

before buying this phone, i just wanted to ask for some opinions. does it have excel and word in it? does it hang as often as XDA II ? how long does the battery really last? thanks.

                                        Potential buyers:

Check your keypads and cursor to make sure that they work. The cursor and "2" key on my phone don't always work and be careful when putting the phone into the case because the cursor will come off. Happened to me twice and lost the cursor the second time it happened, brought it to the distributor and have to shell out 20 US bucks to replace and they blamed me for not being more careful.

Setting the phone can be a bit of work for those not familiar. I travel a lot and getting signal and logging to networks are not always successful, I carry 2 Nokias as well and they do not have this logging on problem.

Status of phone: In the distributor waiting for the cursor to be replaced, will have it back next week then it's bye bye. I am selling it.
