Omate Ice Ring arrives with health tracking and sleek design

Omate has announced a new smart ring called Ice Ring. It's made of titanium alloy and has a slim and minimal design. The smart ring comes with health monitoring features, including sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen level tracking.

The Omate Ice Ring also comes with stress monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, and activity tracking, supporting different sports modes. You can record the route of your outdoor sports activities through Google Maps and GPS on your smartphone.

The Omate Ice Ring tracks four sleep stages - Awake, Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, and REM Sleep. The algorithm provides a sleep score between 0 and 100, depending on the quality of your sleep, and the companion app offers a detailed analysis.

Data about your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and other activities can also be accessed through the same app on your iPhone and Android smartphone.

The Omate Ice Ring is powered by Goodix's GR5515GGBD chip and has 1MB of storage. It's 2.5mm thick, weighs 2.9g, and has an IP68 rating.

The Ice Ring comes with Bluetooth 5.1 and packs a 20 mAh battery, advertised to have 10 days of standby time and 4-6 days of endurance on "normal usage." Once the battery is drained, you can use the bundled magnetic charging cradle to juice up the ring's cell. It's advertised to charge the Ice Ring's battery from flat to 100% in 30 minutes.

The Omate Ice Ring comes in six sizes and three colors - Gold, Silver, and Space Black. It costs €199 ($220/INR18,150) and is available in Europe through Ice-Watch and Louis Pion. It will arrive in North America in Q1 2024.

What is the accuracy of it? Most "smart" rings and trackers give you horrendous data that cannot be trusted for any serious use case. Whoop, Oura, Fitbit, despite their annoying subscriptions are at least fairly accurate.

What you say is true, but it can also be argued that the tiny inconspicuous form factor is what makes it "better" for people who are looking for that.

Good that competition start to come because market leader Oura is just so bad pricing: 300+ dollars and monthly fee to use the ring. I expect Samsung to finally make these mainstream For my use smart watch is much better, especially i am looking...
