OnePlus responds to 10T's durability test failure

Sagar, 23 August 2022

Last week, YouTuber Zack from JerryRigEverything put the OnePlus 10T through his durability test to see if it would fare better than the OnePlus 10 Pro which snapped in his bend test. Well, it didn't, as it ultimately cracked from the same spot as the 10 Pro when pressure was applied. This raised concerns about the 10T's structural durability, and OnePlus has released a statement to address those.

OnePlus said, "The OnePlus 10T meets or exceeds all of OnePlus' extensive durability testing procedures, this includes a pressure test where the device is suspended while weight is applied to its centre on both its front and back. The OnePlus 10T has an enhanced structure engineering design and can bear over 45kg of external force in this test at OnePlus' lab."

"When designing, engineering, and manufacturing OnePlus devices, we ensure they not only offer a design that is beautiful and burdenless but is also durable so they can withstand everyday usage," the Chinese brand added.

While Zack's durability test was extreme, we hope OnePlus will reinforce its upcoming smartphones as the current ones are clearly less sturdy than the competition. In the meantime, you can watch the 10T's bend test below if you haven't already, and head this way to read our detailed OnePlus 10T review to learn more about it.
