OnePlus 12 details surface, to feature new main camera sensor, better telephoto

We are likely far from seeing the OnePlus 12 out in the wild as previous rumors indicated that the company is focusing on a proper upgrade rather than a half-baked one for the second half of this year. And according to a report by Yogesh Brar, the device will indeed launch in early Q1 next year, following a Chinese release in December 2023.

In any case, the report promises several key improvements. Perhaps the most notable upgrade concerns the camera department. The main sensor will be replaced with a new one and we hope to see a 1-inch imager like the Oppo Find X6 Pro. The leak also mentions a new telephoto lens, suggesting that the 32MP Sony IMX709 RGBW unit will still be used for the telephoto setup but will be paired with an improved lens. We just hope to see a further zoom reach as the OnePlus 11's has an unimpressive 2x zoom, albeit pretty solid in terms of quality.

The display will also get an upgrade with a next-gen panel. If we were to guess, it's going to be an LTPO4 OLED panel.

The OnePlus 12 is rumored to feature faster charging (the 11 has 100W) and a symmetrical design. We don't really know what that last bit means, but maybe it refers to the camera island on the back. It's likely going to be centered.
