OnePlus 12 specs leak revealing huge battery

Vlad, 18 July 2023

A few days ago we heard that the OnePlus 12 would land in December, and today we can start counting down to that point since a new rumor has exposed all of its most important specs. While it is definitely an iterative upgrade to the OnePlus 11, some of those iterations are quite substantial - the battery capacity, for example, but also the presence of the first ever periscope telephoto camera on a OnePlus device.

So let's dive in. According to usually reliable sources, the OnePlus 12 will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED touchscreen with 120 Hz refresh rate. At the helm will sit the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by Qualcomm, which is due to be unveiled in October. Complementing it will be up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The triple camera system on the rear consists of a 50 MP main, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 64 MP periscope telephoto. Weirdly, though, today's rumor claims this will only be capable of 3x optical zoom, but so far we've only seen 5x and 10x periscopes so we'll have to take this one with a larger than usual dose of salt.

Anyway, moving on, the selfie camera will be 32 MP, and the software, of course, OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. The alert slider is still in, as will be an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The OnePlus 12 will boast a whopping 5,400 mAh battery, with support for 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging, and it will still have a charger in the box. All in all, it's shaping up to be quite the contender for next year.
