The maim camera sensor is LYT808 which is not as good as flagship sensors and I don't think anyone expects a phone with half of a flagship phone completes with flagships.
When companies tries to reduce price, the very first section that gets the cuts, is the camera.
You're talking about having lags while oxygen OS is not released yet. I think you mean color os which no one care about in a OnePlus phone. People buy OnePlus for oxygen OS.
And 5 years update is more than enough. Many phones don't even get that.

Many complaints about average and low quality picture shots especially if you use it at night
And the Oxygen OS that this phone is using has lag when you try to transition between apps.👎👎 Their OS needs more software updates and better optimization....
Also Android updates are only for 4 years (5 for security updates) 😒

And I don't think phone cameras by themselves are much different, the only things is other components that makes process faster and add more visual effects.
This is why I never buy hype from youtube reviewers, and not willing to pay this much money for "a phone" yet.
