OnePlus 3 and 3T get their final OxygenOS open beta builds

Vlad, 09 July 2018

Today OnePlus has released the final open beta builds for the 3 and 3T. They arrive as Open Beta 39 for the OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 30 for the 3T. They're the last ones because a stable update will be sent over by the Chinese company by the end of this month.

The newest beta builds come with optimized switching between the front and rear camera, an added capability to scrub/seek through AAC audio file timelines, as well as some improvements to the launcher - better search tags in App drawer, a New Installs category tab, and an enhanced app list for hidden space and toolbox.

That's the entire changelog straight from OnePlus, but you should obviously expect some unnamed bug fixes and performance enhancements to have made their way in as well. As usual, installing beta software comes with potential risks, so only do that if you're comfortable with bugs and the possibility of losing data.

If you're already running the previous Open Beta, you will receive this one as an over-the-air software update in the next few days. If not, you can flash this build by going to this page and following the instructions. Note that moving back to the official update path from Beta will require a full install and clean flash, wiping all data and cache in the process.

No 8.1 for beta testers huh? Why am i not surprised lol. Here's at least hoping (not happening though) that they release 8.1 straight as a stable release.

Well it is because the SNAPDRAGON 820/821 are more or less the same, only having faster clock speeds for the newer one. I won't be surprised if OnePlus 3T is treated like the OnePlus 3 with the SNAPDRAGON 820...
