OnePlus 3 passes through FCC, specs confirmed once again

Victor, 28 May, 2016

As we approach June 14 - currently believed to be the release date for the OnePlus 3, we are naturally starting to see more bits and pieces of information about the upcoming handset with every passing day. After a few trustworthy leaks, followed by the obligatory appearance at TENAA and even a selfie camera sample all accounted for, we currently have quite a bit of info on the upcoming flagship.

All that is left now is to simply wait it out until the phone's release and luckily, the aforementioned June 14 date might not be far off, as the OnePlus 3 (A3000 and A3003 model numbers) has already acquired its FCC certification, suggesting that things are definitely moving along towards an imminent release.

Sadly, the FCC isn't nearly as liberal with the information they share as their Chinese colleagues, but the public documents do still offer confirmation for at least some of the specs on the handset. For starters, there are the dimensions, listed as 151×74×7 mm and a weight of 158.75 grams, which are a little off from the TENNA 152.6×74.6×7.3 mm and 160 grams, but not by a whole lot. This naturally includes the sealed-in battery pack, with its 3000 mAh capacity, also confirmed. Sadly, information gets even thinner after that with only hints on the presence of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth with an undisclosed version and an OxygenOS 3.1.0 ROM.

It is still better than nothing and, as already mentioned, we do have TENAA to fill in the gaps. According to the certification authority, the OnePlus 3 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, clocked at 2.15GHz and has 4GB of RAM plus 64GB of expandable storage. The camera setup includes a 16MP shooter on the back and an 8MP selfie one. To top off the preliminary specs sheet, there is a fingerprint scanner in the home button and three suggested color options - light gray, black and gold.

There's an error in your story. It's not 64GB of "expandable storage". It's 64GB of internal... If this DOESN'T have expandable storage, however, I'll probably go for the Axon 7. As long as ZTE keeps the price under $450US. Oppomart are trying to sel...
