OnePlus 5T review

Custom gallery

One of the few custom apps on the OnePlus 5 is the Gallery, which defaults to a view of photos and videos taken by the phone, arranged by date. Switch to Collections and your selfies are separated from the main camera photos, plus you get access to your screenshots, downloads, and whatever other folders you have. Videos are also played from within the Gallery- there's no dedicated app for them.

The built-in editor is very capable, giving you tons of options for adjusting brightness, contrast, and whatnot. Filters can be applied too, and if you absolutely insist you can stamp 'Never Settle' on your photos.

Google Play Music for playing your tunes

Google Play Music is in charge of music playback, there's no in-house player. You don't need a subscription to access your local media, and you get bells and whistles like album art, powerful searching algorithms, and the neat ability to upload your own tracks to the cloud and stream them for free.

There's a system-wide equalizer on the OP5T, accessible in Settings, when you plug in a pair of headphones. There are presets for different music styles, and you can adjust the 7 bands yourself. There are also sound enhancement presets for OnePlus' two generations of Bullets earbuds, the more obscure OnePlus Icons, and the JBL-branded E1+.

Audio output is good

The OnePlus 5T has excellent clarity with an active external amplifier with no weak points as befits a flagship these days. Its loudness isn’t going to win any contests, but is still above average.

Headphones cause a moderate spike in stereo crosstalk and introduce a tiny bit of intermodulation distortion, but overall tracks will still sound the way they were meant to. Users of very high impedance headphones might not get enough volume, but for the majority of music fans, the 5T will do a great job.

Great phone. Nearly 3 and half years still going great. One plus really need to prove on camara dept. Camera is not even good in 9 series. IQoo has much better camera despite priced lower.
