I am wondering if there's a decent ROM out there for the HD1925 that doesn't lose any of the functionality of OxygenOS 11, since it seems OP has stopped support.

Gaming phones like Red Magic or ROG often feature a notch-less screen but these are way too heavy and bulky.
IMO the only spiritual successor to this is probably ZTE's Axon 30/40, but the 30 only has a 1080P screen and the 40 uses the notorious Snapdragon 8G1. TBH the 855+ can still carry a lot if you're not into 3D-heavy gaming.

Shayan, 25 Aug 2022Which one is best option 8t or 7t pro mclaren? There's no objective answer.
Performance-wise, the 8T has the faster 865 whereas the McLaren one has the 855+.
Display-wise, the McLaren one has a 1440p AMOLED panel with no hole in it, whereas the 8T only has a 1080p AMOLED panel with a hole in it, but it is 120hz when the McLaren one is only 90hz.
Camera-wise, I'd say the McLaren one is better because they went with the best setup of cameras for that one. Wide, ultrawide, and telephoto. The 865 is better at image processing though so the 8T might have an edge in that regard.
You gotta decide what's best for you.

I was sceptic about getting this phone in 2022 but so far it has "almost" been worth every penny. Here's how I feel about it after a month of use.
Display - It's AMAZING! I'm not a fan of camera hole punches and notches so an actual all-screen phone just seems perfect. 90 Hz gets the job done and jumping to 120 Hz doesn't show significant difference. So it's best to use 90 Hz which can also save considerable battery.
Design - Having a curved screen means accidental touches. Although it's easier to hold for the curve and with regular use you can reduce the amount of accidental touches but it's not completely avoidable. Also, it's not at all convenient to use this device with one hand. You need both your hands to properly operate the device. Last but not the least, the McLaren steering-wheel-inspired back design looks classy AF!
Battery - You can rely on it to get you through the day. Moreover, its super fast charging ability gets you ready quickly if you're planning to go out.
OS - Oxygen OS is my favourite. It's clean, snappy, fluid and on-point. It's one of the reasons why I'm still using OnePlus. I've never experienced any lag on the device but noticed the camera app crashing once or twice while switching to front camera.
Camera - The main camera is sharp, crisp and detailed with efficient colour accuracy. I don't use GCam because I think the stock camera is just as good, if not more. Also, low-light photos come out decent. However, the front camera is simply disappointing. My backup phone is a OnePlus 5T which takes far better selfies compared to OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren. Even my partner's Redmi A3 takes better selfies until different lighting conditions.

I love this phone due to the fact that it's ALL SCREEN. No camera hole punches. No notches. Yeah, the pop-up camera limits it from being waterproof, but when closed it has water resistance. Who would expose their phones to water anyways even if it has a water resistance/proofing rating?
And yeah complaints about its curved screen are there, but I admire its design. It makes the phone easier for me to hold. The taller design is much more manageable than making it wider.
I can submit to its 90 Hz screen. The only reason 120 Hz is relevant is if you're a gamer fanatic.
Battery life still holds as it ages to 3 years: with 5G signal on, Bluetooth and WiFi on. It lasts throughout with at least 15 percent left at the end of the day.
Switching from app to app, multitasking, watching videos, listening to audio has always been speedy and hardly any lag.
Oxygen OS is still one of my favorite Android iteration. It's clean and fluid. Updates come in a very timely manner.
If I were to give up this device, I'm heavily considering the Pixel 6 Pro as it has better camera modules and processing.
OnePlus really never has great cameras. They're average to me at the least. I purchased the OnePlus 9 to be used as a daily driver, but kept going back to this OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition. I'm just not a fan of punch hole cameras.

I'm still using this phone in 2022 and i can't for the life of me find another phone with as much character or simplicity for a similar price. I bought my girlfriend the 12 ultra max and the 13 ultra and both of them don't feel as unique and barely work as well.

WCDMA, 14 Apr 2022Is this phone camera better than Google pixel 6No. While updates are supposed to make the camera better, it still pales in comparison to Pixel 6's camera system. The only thing it is better at is that the 7T Pro (along with the 7T McLaren Edition) has a macro mode, while the 6/6 Pro doesn't. You can install a GCam mod to OnePlus though, but I am not sure how much of a significant difference it will make.
