OnePlus confirms its first foldable smartphone will be coming later in 2023

OnePlus today officially confirmed that it will be launching its first flagship foldable smartphone. The phone will releasing in the second half of 2023.

“Our first foldable phone will have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. It must be a flagship phone that doesn't settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects. We want to launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market.” said Kinder Liu, President, and COO of OnePlus at the company's MWC panel discussion.

Speaking to TechCrunch, Liu indicated that the foldable will have the form-factor of a book, meaning more along the lines of the Galaxy Z Fold rather than the Galaxy Z Flip. It remains to be seen whether this will be a brand new device or perhaps a modified and rebranded version of the Oppo Find N2.

The company had nothing more to say at the moment nor did it have any images to share. The best look we have at this device is potentially the teaser image above from the OnePlus 11 global launch, which narrows down the launch window to Q3 2023. We will see then what the company has in store for us.

I want Flip alternative. That's a cool tiny phone to have with you anywhere.

hopefully without a stupid and ugly circular camera bezel! Maybe the OS UI has some refinements and features that cater to the USA/North American and Western European markets.
