Conclusion

The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is, for all intents and purposes, the Nord 2 5G. We were suitably impressed with the Nord 2 when we reviewed it last year; we liked the design, the display, the performance, the battery life, and the fast charging. All of that also applies to the Nord 2T 5G, which generally impresses across all those fronts.

Having said that, after almost a year of launching the Nord 2 5G, we had hoped for a bit more from the Nord 2T 5G, even if it is just a T series device. OnePlus itself promised only a handful of improvements, such as with the processor and the fast charging but after testing, we found out that neither is measurably any better than before. So the grand total of things that are actually different from the Nord 2 come down to the design and the inclusion of a 960fps slow motion mode.

OnePlus is aiming the Nord 2T 5G at those who would be upgrading from the original Nord from two years ago. That seems like a reasonable device to upgrade from. However, if you are someone with the original Nord and skipped the Nord 2 last year, then you'd probably be disappointed to learn that you aren't getting any meaningful improvement for your money for the extra year you waited.

If you have to upgrade today, the Nord 2T 5G is still a good all-round phone that is worth buying. But if you can wait, then we recommend sticking around for the next one.
