The EU requires brands to give an option not to get a charger, they're not forcing you to remove the charger entirely ... Brands could always give you a 100% discount coupon on a charger or give it as an optional/tickable gift, and OnePlus does the latter, meaning they can legally to it, they just don't always do it and not for all models. Which means that they're just happy not to give us a charger for margins purposes and that it has nothing to do with the EU.

Rufus, 02 Nov 2025You can thank the idiots at the EU council for that law + it's not that phones don't require chargers... the stupidest thing ever done in the entire industry. When you're forced to buy one anyway + risking 'The Market' ... pretty sad. :(

In Battery option in OnePlus settings, one gets the information of only as to the Time-period since phone was charged upto 100%. In mine case it is showing 28 days and 22 hrs. and 15 minutes.
It should show the Time-period since Last charged irrespective of % age to what it was charged. Since last when charger was unplugged .
If possible both informations can be given
Its UI needs some corrections.

OnePlus UI should provide option for REDUCING the Camera Shutter sound. So that one can adjust the volume of shutter sound to one's choice.

I mean they have intentionally capped certain apps to work at 60hz only, like google maps. Despite having a more than adequate processor and still handicapping a device is totally unacceptable. I have put it for sale already.
Shame on me, for believing in these companies who all are fooling the customers in the name of performance hardware etc.
PS: Forgot the mention that the loudspeakers are plain average, neither loud enough nor have any quality. And the camera is below average as well. This is an extremely overpriced device for what it offers.

After having used Samsung (even presently using S23+), Motorola, Realme , Xiaomi and this OnePlus Nord 5 as my second phone, I am of the opinion that out of these, Samsung and Xiaomi are having the best displays alongwith One UI at the best followed by Xiaomi's Hyper OS and both have good water mark options for their camera images.
Oneplus is heard to be good at software updates , let us see, otherwise Samsung is best at Software updates.
One suggestion for Oneplus, in its camera an option be introduced to reduce/adjust camera shutter sound Volume like Samsung.

I bought the phone two days ago. The camera is quite average. For the price not good at all. And my biggest gripe is the display. Despite setting it on Natural the colour calibration on the phone is quite off compared to my Macbook and ultrasharp monitor. I am not sure what's wrong with the display.

I need a... moreI'm very late to this, but one thing the Poco phones are good at is having great flicker countermeasures.
The Poco X7 Pro has 1920Hz PWM dimming. The F7 has even better at 3840Hz PWM dimming - which must be the highest value I've seen before. So I would recommend going with the F7.

I am little taken back while using my first ever oneplus phone viz. oneplus nord 5 for photography. To my surprise there is no option to avoid words oneplus while using watermark on the photographs taken because what I wanted was, that only "Time and Date" of taking the photo to be printed on the photographs but this simple option is not available just as in xiaomi phones or Samsung Phones.
Other phones even give the option to choose the format for date and time printing only. Option rests with phone user.
Seems Oneplus few years behind.

But it can be either hit or miss, depending on how well the rom is made.
