OnePlus Nord GeekBench listings reaffirm India version has the same specs as the global one

Victor, 18 July 2020

The upcoming OnePlus Nord mid-ranger has been getting a lot of fan attention. In no small part, thanks to the abundance of info on the still unannounced device, from both leaks and official sources, eager to discuss its design and hardware choices.

OnePlus Nord design revealed in interview with Carl Pei

One would think that in such an open environment, there would be little room left for confusion. Yet, an earlier GeekBench leak managed to stir-up some theories and unrest. It listed an odd BE2028 OnePlus device that reported a slightly different motherboard identifier, less RAM, at 6GB and lower CPU clocks than those expected on the OnePlus Nord and its officially-confirmed Snapdragon 765G chipset. Some people took this as a sign that OnePlus might pull a “bait and switch”, of sorts, for certain markets and release the Nord with lower-end hardware, like a Snapdragon 690, specifically in India.

There are already plenty of facts disproving that theory. Still, today brings further reassurance that India buyers will be getting the same Snapdragon 765G chipset as global ones. A recent trio of GeekBench listings for a OnePlus AC2001 all report performance numbers more in-line with what we expect from the Snapdragon 765G, as well as a matching CPU frequency of 1.8GHz and 12GB of RAM. The AC2001 model identifier has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website in the past.

Other known specs for the upcoming OnePlus Nord include a 90HZ AMOLED panel, with 180Hz touch sampling rate. The Nord team has also openly discussed camera choices, including the familiar 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, complete with and f/1.75 aperture and OIS. Alongside that – an 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth unit and a macro camera. On the front – a 32MP selfie snapper and a secondary one, with a 105-degree ultrawide field of view.

Other leaks have also mentioned a 4,115 mAh battery, with 30W fast charging support, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi ac, 2x2 MIMO and NFC, all packed inside a 185-gram body, likely with some IP rating, available in Blue Marble, Gray Onyx and Gray Ash.

OnePlus Nord official cases

Circling back to the odd OnePlus BE2028, we have to wonder if it is just an earlier hardware prototype of the Nord, a mysterious lower-tier “lite” model, of sorts or an entirely different device that OnePlus has managed to keep secret. Hopefully, we get some clarification on that at the company’s “AR launch” event on July 21, which is also expected to include an unveiling of the new OnePlus Buds.

Why not?? there is more options for the premium peoples like One plus 8 pro. If apple makes iPhone 11 Pro above Rs. 1 Lakh and the same company makes iphone SE2 for the 42K that does not meant the company lost their Brand Value.
