OnePlus Open review
Video recording
The OnePlus Open supports 4K30 video capturing with all five cameras. The primary, ultrawide, and telephoto can also do Full HD and 4K at 60FPS, while there is no 60FPS option for either selfie shooters.
There is always-on electronic stabilization available across all five cameras, and it works great in all resolutions and frame rates.
OnePlus Open also supports Dolby Vision capturing at 4K30 with its rear cameras.
Finally, audio is always captured stereo with 256Kbps bit rate and the quality sounds excellent.
Main camera
The primary camera records excellent 4K videos with plenty of detail and natural rendition, no noise and accurate white balance and color presentation. There is no over-sharpening, the dynamic range is wide, and the contrast is alright.
Sure, we've seen more detailed videos than these, but not that many, so we still consider those of great quality.
Plus, the always-on EIS does an excellent job at stabilizing the footage.
Oddly, while the low-light footage is generally good - it has good, bright even exposure, enough resolved detail, excellent colors, wide dynamic range, and good contrast, it has a lot of imperfections that look like compression artefacts, but we suspect it's just noise that wasn't handled properly. Don't get this wrong, it is very much usable, just not the great video we expected it to be from such a camera.
All 2x zoomed videos from the main camera are digitally zoomed, and while they look fine on the phone's display, they are super soft and lacking in detail.
And here are some snapshots from the videos.
Telephoto camera
The 3x zoomed videos from the telephoto camera are as great as the ones from the primary cam - they are detailed with nicely balanced processing, excellent color rendition, noise reduction and wide dynamic range.
The stabilization on this camera wasn't exactly intended to handle walking, but it sure does a solid job when panning - which is exactly what is required.
The low-light 4K video is quite impressive - it is detailed, clean of noise, with natural color saturation, with good contrast and adequate dynamic range.
The 6x zoomed video is a digital zoom over the telephoto camera, but it's a rather good one, and we liked the clip even if the picture is a bit soft. The rest is great - colors, dynamic range, noise reduction.
The 6x low-light video is incredibly soft and noisy, and it's barely usable.
You can look at these snapshots we took from the videos.
Ultrawide camera
The ultrawide camera captured great 4K videos with adequate detail levels, no visible noise, accurate colors, high contrast, and wide dynamic range. The field of view is quite wide, but the corners don't exhibit harsh distortion and softness.
EIS works great on this camera, too.
The low-light 4K videos from the ultrawide camera are poor - they are overrun by noise, with narrow dynamic range, reddish color tint and are quite soft.
And now, a couple of snapshots from the ultrawide videos.

Selfie cameras
The cover selfie camera shoots good 4K videos, somewhat noisy, but detailed, with accurate colors and okay-ish dynamic range.
The 4K footage from the internal camera is noise-free but not that detailed. Other than that - the rendition is balanced, the colors are accurate, and the dynamic range is good.
The electronic stabilization works impressively well on both cameras.
Finally, some snapshots from the selfie cameras.

How the hell did Oneplus manage to fumble with the OP12 regarding camera quality? Open takes the best night mode pics I've seen on this site and I'm comparing it directly with a Pro 15 Max with the same scenes!

Just came back to say that emulation on Android has hugely improved since I made my comment. Current version of Yuzu emulator runs most Switch games on a Oneplus 10T extremely good. The reason why a computer struggles is due to the computer's ar...

After looking at the photos of the telephoto camera and comparing it to all of the competitors, including from last year, it seems this is by far the best telephoto camera. Look especially at the night photo from the telephoto camera of the buildin...
