OnePlus Open 2 may arrive later than previously rumored

A few days ago a rumor out of China claimed the Oppo Find N5 would launch over there before the end of March. This device is very likely going to be sold internationally under the name OnePlus Open 2 since the original OnePlus Open from last year was a rebranded Oppo Find N3 (Oppo is skipping the "4" because of tetraphobia).

At the time we did note that it was unclear how soon after the N5's launch the Open 2 would follow, and today a tipster over on X sheds some light on just this fact - and it's not great news.

As you can see, the OnePlus Open 2 is said to only be arriving internationally in the second half of 2025, so in July at the earliest. Since it's rumored to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, this launch timeline would mean that it will only be on the market for a few short months (or even less) before the next flagship Snapdragon chip gets announced, presumably in October.

So, with its probable flagship pricing, the Open 2 would only have the current flagship chip for a short while, which is, to put it mildly, less than ideal. Then again, this is just an unconfirmed rumor, so maybe things will turn out differently. We'll have to wait and see.

I was ready to try one plus open 2 because i wanted snapdragon elite on a foldable at the same time with s25 ultra date. If it is not coming at least on March i will wait for Samsung fold 7

Better to admit that they found too many bugs software and choose to delay the phone. Only about time they will be finding out, why many companies choose to exit the foldable market.

Never hear of this guy before. DCS has a track record of reliable leaks so I'd rather trust him. This is also copium bc I REALLY want that phone
